Junk files ?

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me what all these files are for. They are generated in the root of my HD where FS is installed whenever I load the 737 and all start with "s13o"I've attached an image of the files

I just saw these kind of files appear on my HD yesterday too...I have no idea what might cause this, but I suspect It's from something I installed and not some kind of virus as I don't find any. Have you installed something from IVAO lately?

  • Author

No, nothing installed from IVAO. They only appear when loading the PMDG 737 in FS.I've deleted all the files, reloaded FS then the 737 and all the files are generated again. Only does it when loading the 737, no other time.

Right, I just found out this also...I wonder why all of a sudden it would start doing this? It happens even when I load the PMDG at the start screen and haven't even placed the plane at the airport??? Maybe a fault in the AIRAC file? I did install some new sound files, have you done this also?

Looking through some of the files in wordpad I can see some references to Macromedia Fireworks 3.0, wonder why that is?

Guys,This is something that is due to your systems. I've never in the whole time reinstalling and reloading the PMDG NG seen this. And I doubt any of the other beta members have experienced this or they would have cried out loud during beta testing.Back in my mind I remember seeing a post, and an explanation, about a lot of junk files way back when. Maybe a thorough search might reveal it?Sorry I can't be of more help,

Yeah, I noticed the reference to Macromedia too. No, I haven't installed any sounds. The 737 seems to generate these files when it's building the databases from the AIRAC. That's the only thing i've updated, i'm using AIRAC 411.

Yea right after it loads all the navaids and stuff...have you installed the new FSUIPC 3.411?

Folks, this is something I've read in another forum. I can't confirm it, as my computer with FS on it is currently 'off duty'.Have you installed the latest version of Etienne Martin's pushback gauge? It seems that this gauge is producing those files.CheersThomas

Yes I have...I'll check and see if it stops if I uninstall it. Thanks. :D

Okay, I can now confirm that in fact it's the new pushback gauge from Etienne that is producing all of these junk files. Thanks for the heads-up Thomas.

Thanks Thomas.I had that gauge installed too, think i'll go back to Rob Berengt's gauge instead.

He is aware of the problem and there will be an update available shortly here on Avsim, or you can email him and receive the new gauge...I did.
