COM1/COM2 Frequency Ranges

Featured Replies

I've search the forum and can't find anything on this subject, so I'm hoping this isn't a duplicate. When flying my 737NG in South Africa, the frequencies for ATIS at most of the airports are in the 115 range and lower (FAGG - 112.5, FACT 115.7, FADN 112.0, FAJS 115.2, FAEL 114.5, etc). However, I can't get the PMDG radios to tune to that range of frequencies - 118. something is the lowest I can get to before it cycles to 135 or so (Can't remember the exact ranges at the moment). But, basically, it leaves me without ATIS information. Is there anyway to change the COM1/COM2 frequency ranges so I can get to these frequencies?

Have you tried tuning the ATIS on the Nav Radio (Nav1/Nav2)? Don't forget to press the appropriate monitor button on the radio panel. This would be similar to listening to HWAS or AWOS on a VOR.

Thanks George,I'll try that - to tell the truth, I didn't even think about that - I got stuck in the mind set of trying to find the COM frequency answer.

"I didn't even think about that"NP Mark, thats one of the fun things about this forum. There are lots of people helping all of us think about things we didn't think about ourselves. Right Randy? :-lol
