THRUST reading on PFD during descent...

I generally descend in VNAV PATH with a valid flightplan. So far, everything has gone pretty well on my familiarization flights. However, I note that once the descent has started, the annunciation in the thrust area of the PFD reads ARM on the way down, implying that I haven't selected a valid thrust mode. Why is this happening when I am in VNAV PATH--or is it a correct annunciation?Appreciate guidance, thanks.Jonathan

When the throttles are idle they go into ARM and V/S is used to control your speed. If your speed starts to fall the thrusts will be used. Everything is normal!

The reason it is in ARM is because PATH is the target in VNAV PATH, it was computed @ idle and will not add throttle unless you become too slow or have a restriction or change modes...SO think VNAV PATH=PATH no SPD and VNAV SPD=SPD not PATH..Best Wishes,[h4]Randy J.
