March 31, 200521 yr Hi, can't seem to find what key to hit to operate the stairs on the B737NG... can get the doors open, and already have tailhook & wings folding allocated... but they don't extend the stairs. would appreciate if someone can help out... can't find the answer in any of the documention (so much to look at!). Thanks in advance.
March 31, 200521 yr To activate the airstairs you'll have to assign keys to the commands "Increase Concorde nose/visor angle" and "Decrease Concorde nose/visor angle" under the Options>Controls>Assignments>General Aircraft commands menu. I've assigned Shift+F9 to extend the stairs (increase Concorde nose/visor angle) and Shift+F10 to retract the stairs (decrease Concorde nose/visor angle). I think this is the recommended setting by PMDG (not that it really matters).I'll agree that the manuals hold a multitude of information - but none of it is irrelevant - I suggest you take the time to read it! :D You'll be surprised at what you learn and how much better you become at piloting this amazing bird.
March 31, 200521 yr Dave, they tailhook and wing folding are just key stroke assignments that can be assigned to a model to perform those things. Tailhook is generally for aircraft carrier aircraft, and wing fold the same. Some add on models use these key strokes for cargo doors, passenger doors, or other moving parts on an aircraft.
