744 fidelity question

Featured Replies

Hi,as a fan of the more technical aspects of flying large airliners, the information trickling out about the forthcoming 744 has intrigued me to say the least. But I wonder if the more esoteric aspects of flying it will be modelled? For example, will the effects of braking on contaminated (wet) surfaces cause a reduction in efficiency, or harder braking cause a cumulative, time-delayed, build up of heat, with the possible effect of tyre-blowout? Yes, these sort of excruciatingly minute details do float my boat, but I did read in the latest preview on your 744 product page that you do try to incorporate suggestions, so please take this as merely that and no more. And thanks for the fine 737NG.Tony

hi Tonywelcomehonestly,i read your post with great laughter! no offense though, its amazing where this sim will be in say 10 years...

It has been stated that the SYSTEMS of the PMDG 747 will rival that of the PS1 747. Performance of braking on wet surfaces and overheated brakes will probably be simulated. Tyre blowouts on the other hand, not likely. Goran

Thanks for the reply guys. My post was slightly tongue-in-cheek, but it is true that I do like that kind of detailed stuff, and you guys see where I'm coming from. It is my personal hope that this piece of software gives PS1 a strong run for its money on my computer.
