I'm back! That rule about the three hours slipped right past me. I would have been most perturbed had i completed that flight only to come back to find it was for nothing. Of course, would have been my own fault. Thanks for waiting.Give me a few minutes and I'll get my report posted, along with screenshots. For the record, three hours is NOT enough for long stretches like that unless you are flying jet. My cruise in the DC-3 is 140 kts., you do the math.Regards,Heather

The time limit is part of what makes it a challenge. :) It also encourages folks to plan a bit before taking off, and puts them under a little pressure. If it were free-for-all, there would be less of a challenge aspect to it!--Tony

Deaparted GCXO Los Rodeos as soon as there was enough sun to see the runway without lights, 0527 hours. The "real world" weather was near perfect with so few clouds to be neglibible, unlimited visibility and very light winds from 309 at 8 kts. With one exception, the flight was completely uneventful. The exception was when I discovered after a harrowing close encounter with an airliner, that my communications radio was no longer working, hence, no transmissions to or from ATC. A good thing I chose a VFR flight course.Arrived 7 hrs. 12 min. later at LPFL Flores.Traveled a charted 1,084 miles; used 4419 lbs fuel, 404 lbs remaining.Following is a screenshot record of the flight.Cheers!Have fun y'all, I'm cooling my heels with a Pina ColadaThe Routehttp://imagehost.auctionwatch.com/preview/...oah42/ROUTE.JPGhttp://imagehost.auctionwatch.com/preview/...aroah42/001.JPGhttp://imagehost.auctionwatch.com/preview/...aroah42/002.JPGhttp://imagehost.auctionwatch.com/preview/...aroah42/003.JPGhttp://imagehost.auctionwatch.com/preview/...aroah42/004.JPGTHIS is where I shortly after realized that I had no communications.http://imagehost.auctionwatch.com/preview/...aroah42/005.JPGhttp://imagehost.auctionwatch.com/preview/...aroah42/006.JPGhttp://imagehost.auctionwatch.com/preview/...aroah42/008.JPGhttp://imagehost.auctionwatch.com/preview/...aroah42/009.JPGhttp://imagehost.auctionwatch.com/preview/...aroah42/010.JPGhttp://imagehost.auctionwatch.com/preview/...aroah42/011.JPGhttp://imagehost.auctionwatch.com/preview/...aroah42/012.JPG

Heather, great shots!! Looks like it was a fun trip, and those islands were probably all the better for not being hidden in the mists!Unfortunately, I have the dubious responsibility of awarding you a Strike!! for violating the rule stating that you must post one (and only one) screenshot of your flight!!No worries, though! Everybody can get up to 3 strikes!--Tony

When this challenge was run in the other forum, we found it helpful to break into a new thread when the number of posts approached fifty. I'll be watching out for that and taking care of posting the rules at the top of each thread so everyone has a chance to see them. The Round the World Challenge continues here:http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/DCForumID8/7301.html--Tony

Heather: Great work. Great screen shots too. Great old airplane. I'd like to know more about that one. Can it be picked up on Avsim? Where? How do you do the map? The route map? Love to know. I have some right seat time in the old DC-3. Good work. Happy landings.
