Real ATC-chatter & parallel traffic display?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,1) I am asking myself if you listen to ATC-chatter while you don`t fly the PMDG-simulation (or for FS2K4 background-chatter) and if you can recommend some good URLs for that?2) I read a year or so ago that there should be a site where you can listen to JFK-airport ATC (Tower, Approach) controller *together(!)* with viewing the JFK-air traffic (approaches, departures, enroutes) at an additionel ATC-Radar map of the vicinity of JFK which is been displayed parallel (It should look like the real scope in the real ATC...:)Do you know if this URL realy exist (I found nothing like that)? That would be pretty cool...:) :)3) Unfortunately, I cannot realy believe that...only when thinking about air-security reasons after 9.11.2001 I thought that has been forbidden, specially in the US, don`t you think so? Many thanks...I wish everybody a great week-end...Many greetingsSusan

You can find quite a few ATC channels, they're just usually delayed a little for security reasons, but for FS' sake that doesn't matter. I tend to use chatter along with FS from time to time, adds a little touch of realism. Then again, when a friend of yours has a 727 nose in his backyard as his cockpit for FS, I guess listening to ATC chatter isn't the geekiest thing you're willing to do for the sake of entertainment. :-lolBack to your question, look for "live ATC" on google, you'll find quite a few links.Daniel P.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpgMember of SJU Photography. Hi,thanks for all your help! :)Today I also find that one for JFK. Here you can do airport monitoring (display of air traffic) on a map together with the corresponding ATC chatter:ATC-chatter:Delivery/Ground: http://audio.liveatc.net:8012/jfk_del_gnd.m3u Tower: http://audio.liveatc.net:8012/jfk_twr.m3u Approach/Departure: http://audio.liveatc.net:8012/jfk_app_dep.m3u ATC-map -Traffic monitoring- : http://www4.passur.com/jfk.htmlGreetings Susan

Susan,You did a good search. I knew they were out there but forgot the sites.Thanks.

try atcmonitor.com for the KATL Macey2 arrival. This side also has a refreshing screen shot of the controllers radar screen, so you can actually see the planes and how he controls them. Plus it works without installing any codec's Steve

The link says that the Sky Harbor site is not active or is out of date.Ken.
