DXT3 and 32bit textures

Featured Replies

can the PMDG team make some indication as to what type of system will run 32 bit textures? i get about 20fps in the PMDG 737 normally.

If you are getting a comfortable 20fps in the PMDG 737, you should have no problem with the 32-bit textures of the Queen, as the PMDG 737's textures are already all 32-bit :)

I think he's asking whether 32-bit textures would provide smooth framerates on his system Vin :)

32-bit textures have more cuality, but they use more resources of the pc.16-bit are just the opposite, less cuality but they run much better on slower pc

well i was just want to know basically how much of a difference the two will show in framerates... e.g. 10 fps more for 32bit... :S

That of course depends on your system, Alex. DXT3 textures have 25% the overhead of 32 bit textures. Typically, the more texture memory your video card has, the more textures (higher quality textures) it can handle.
