Vid card / CPU upgrade - query

I have seen a substantial difference since using FS autostart,which is a utility which gives you the ability to shut down many programs and services running in the background (its freeware too!). It has increased frames enough to increase the scenery texture and density. I run a 3.2 Ghz with 1gig of ram and a 6600gt. Frames seem to bounce between 30-45 persecond depending on the usual factors like add on traffic, clouds, water etc. Regular clean up of the windows folder and defrag of the drive and registry could possibly help too after you set up your system.I was in the local puter store the other day looking at the 7800gt but was advised to wait for the new Radeon card due for release early next year. I would be interested to hear bout AMD myself with performance as have only had P4 til now
