November 25, 200520 yr Hello guys, just one tiny question:I was practising VOR DME Approaches this evening and tried to get the Queen to lock onto the manually tuned VOR via the "LOC"-function of the Autopilot. For some reason it overshot the tuned radial several times. So I was just wondering if I
November 26, 200520 yr Hi,The VOR/LOC function (for Vor/Dme radial approach) is enabled on the PMDG 737, but it is not possible with the 744 (as in real world ?!?)...:-hmmm
November 26, 200520 yr >Hi,>The VOR/LOC function (for Vor/Dme radial approach) is enabled>on the PMDG 737, but it is not possible with the 744 (as in>real world ?!?)...>:-hmmm Hi huys,The VOR/LOC function is present in the entire Boeing family including the 747.You should check your distance from the VOR and your GS(ground speed). If your too close to the VOR and if your GS is higher than normal then there is a tendancy to overshoot. On the otherhand if you engage the VOR/LOC mode too late it will overshoot. In MSFS the VOR's are sometimes displaced off the runway so you'll be off anyway.Give me an update on the issue.-NavneetFS 2004 Version 9.1AMD Athlon 64 3000+ATI Radeon 9600 128MB - Anti-Aliasing 6x1GB DDR400 Kingston RAMWestern Digital 30 GB - Seagate 120 GB (7200 rpm)Sony DVDRW - 16XLG Flatron 775FT 17' MonitorCreative SBLive! November 26, 200520 yr Hey navneet, thanks for your answer. The thing is that I took all these aspects in account. It was the VOR/DME approach in Zurich, Rwy 34. I was 16 miles out of KLO VOR and had it manually tuned in; the course was set on 332
November 27, 200520 yr >The VOR/LOC function is present in the entire Boeing family>including the 747.Nope, not true. 747 or 767 do not have VOR tracking capability. You can't tune VOR using the LOC button. LOC is localizer only.Michael J.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/pmdg_744F.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_beta_member.jpg Michael J.
November 27, 200520 yr 747 can't track VOR signal. The only way to shoot such an approach in 744 is to use LNAV. You may go back to the old forum and do some search - this topic was discussed there extensively.Michael J.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/pmdg_744F.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_beta_member.jpg Michael J.
