Robert,I have the identical system to yours, except I have the Geforce3TI500. I just updated to this system, and I went ahead and upgraded from ME to Xp and I have had great luck with Xp. I get can get around 20 to 25 fps consistently using my PSS747-400 at night in Chicago with the sliders all maxed. The system has never crashed once so far with Fs2002Scott

Thanks to all who responded, this is indeed a helpful community.Based upon your advice, my decision is.... both!Per Trip's suggestion - I will install both Windows 98 SE and Windows XP Pro (in separate partitions), and dual-boot between the two. This is such an elegant solution - allowing me to try both operating systems and to decide for myself which of the two works best on my hardware. I will report my findings. Thanks to you fourm dwellers for your posts,Robert Rent
