Magenta

Featured Replies

I have purchased 747 for use with project Magenta. I use also an Aerosoft 747 MCP. The autopilot does not react to Magenta at all. Also when in PMDG mode the Aerosoft MMCP does not work with the 747. It did with the PMDG 737 serie.Anybody ideas on how to solve these?Rob

I am pleased that the Aerosoft MCP is now supported. I would appreciate if somebody from PMDG staff could react to my question on the Magenta software.ThanksRob

Hi Bob,At this moment I'm using Project Magenta also in my B744 cockpit project and I'm doing so already for more than 5 years now. I always have been more than happy with the work of Enrico and his support. He is doing a great job for the cockpitbuilders community. But I must admit that in all these years, I also learned that it isn't the goal to bring products with the level of detailed realisme as a PS1 or a PMDG B744 system logic, at least not for the hobbyist market.I'm feeling very sad when I say that, but I think you will never be able to use the PMDG B744 together with Project Magenta in its present stage..PMDG B744 is so realistic in modelling, behavior and system logic, that PMDG had to rewrite lots of code and isn't using the original MSFS flightdynamics at all. As Project Mangeta is fully using the MSFS default enviremont you can understand it can't work together correctly.Especially, the PMDG B744 aircraft A/T en A/P, is so completely different than the original MSFS system (in order to behaving as the real one).I think that as long we can't have in Magenta itself the correct behavior as in PMDG B744 for the Queen of the Skies, we never will be able to use Magenta to fly as real the B744. PMSystem is a start, but then we also have the flightdynamics, the A/T, A/P, sounds etc etc .... so there is still a very long way to go for people who like to have all the systems simulated as there are in the real world. In order to have a B744 cockpit hardware project, behaving as the real one, we need a PMDG B744 interfaced with it ;) ;).We have the MCP/EFIS/EICAS now, the Engravity CDU is coming .... so there is some hope here. In order to devide the computer processor load, it should be great if PMDG B747 would be able to work over a network too. This is one of the major advantages of Project Magenta in the cockpitbuilders world.CiaoMichel
