February 21, 200620 yr Ok, here's the situation. I'm on approach with the autopilot flying the ILS and everything is normal. I then decide to do a missed approach and hit the TO/GA button, things aren't so normal after that. The plane pitches up and continues to increase in pitch until I hear the stick shaker and eventually it would enter a stall if I had let it. It can't be right when the plane pitches to more than 20 degrees nose up on the go around. Any thoughts on this situation would be appreciated.ThanksZach
February 21, 200620 yr there was a forum a few weeks ago that talked about GA in great depths. do a search for TOGA or TO/GA or GOING AROUND.you should find it there easily. Tom James
February 21, 200620 yr That's because the autopilot will disengage when TO/GA is pushed on a Single Channel (either A or B autopilot engaged) autopilot approach. You will have to hand fly the missed approach using the FD or reengage the autopilot after passing 400 feet agl.Only Dual Channel autopilot (A and B autopilots engaged) go-arounds allowed with all 737NG AFDS's.Floyd John Floyd
