Engine/Wind sound to high

Recommended Posts

Guest millimeter

Hi fellow airmen - The engine or wind sound is really bothering me wen I'm above 2500 feet. It is so loud that it is almost impossible to hear anything else. Does anyone have the same problem. Is there any fix for this.See my flight movie at: LOW QUALITYhttp://www.skovlunden99.dk/Images/Video/Vi...20EKCH%20lq.wmvHIGH QUALITYhttp://www.skovlunden99.dk/Images/Video/Vi...20EKCH%20hq.wmvOther flight movies at:http://www.skovlunden99.dk/lars.htmlBest reguardsLars Broegger

Hi Lars,I guess you are talking about the PAX version without the CARGO update. In deed, the sound gets really loud over 250kts and it

Hi MathiasI never looked at it that way. Maybe I should try to crank up the volumecontrol when my family is not at home. Thanks for the info.Lars

We lowered the volume of the wind in the 400F, but do know that the real pilots on the test team all reported that the wind is extremely loud on the real 744 due to the shape of the nose - it's one of the loudest flight decks in modern aviation, so much so that many airlines flying it give the pilots noise cancelling headsets.

It is way too loud for me and my hearing is very good. The wind and engine sounds are the worst on climb out. It is nearly impossible to hear ATC. I sometimes dont get the correct altitudes and headings because of it. In level flight or descent there is not much of a problem.

well if you cant hear ATC then just adjust the ATC volume in the FS sound options

Pitch of the wind sound makes even maximum ATC volume virtually inaudible. Here are a few options:a. Reduce wind volume by reducing 'environment' volume slider - also affects other sounds though, like AI, touchdown etcb. My preferred way - Reduce wind sound volume by editing the relevant .wav file (BACKUP first!) - I just used Windows recorder. You must copy the edited sound to all soundsets.c. I believe you can edit the sound.cfgs to reduce WIND SOUND volume, but option b. is more effective imho.d. Wait for the updates - can't wait for them myself :)regards,Markhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpgXPHomeSP2/FS9.1/3.2HT/1024mb/X700pro256
