Hi all in the forum.I usually fly online, mainly in Europe, but today i ventured out and completed my first oceanic flight with Vatsim, from Keflavic (BIKF) to EGSS. I noticed that there was a flyin going on from east to west with loads of participants, thats why i decided to fly west to east so i could do the flight but not get caught up with something i am not ready for yet.I learned how to report my position properly by listening in to the other pilots and ATC and had a brilliant flight. During my listening in ATC asked a pilot if he was Selcal fitted to which he replied that he was, and a few tones came in that I didnt understand, so I went to the net to research Selcal and am now a little wiser. So my question is... is PMDG 747 and 74F Selcal fitted, and if not is there a third party Selcal unit that can be added, with idiot proof instructions on use.thanks for any answers in advanceJohn CallejaBAW 352 in the virtual world.

Hi John,If you're flying on VATSIM using Squawkbox, the selcal codes can be set for each aircraft individually. Click on the Connect button. Under Pilot Information, choose the the aircraft list button. When the box pops up, click on the aircraft you wish to use then hit Edit, and enter the codes you wish to use with that aircraft in the SELCAL box near the bottom.
