Departure runway length calculations

Recommended Posts

For weights below these we use the FMC calculated TO speeds. Because the weights are so light there is an abundance of runway and as such the FMC speeds can be used with confidence. If you look at the bottom of the chart it says, next to TO speeds "Below 290,000 kg use FMC speeds".I went to Sydney the other day and we had a TOW of only 250,000 kg for the return trip. Let's see, if I used the correct formula, that's 551,000lbs. That's pretty light, below the maximum landing weight of 630,000lbs. Ken.

Yeah we were filling in for an A320 that normally does the route so we only had a hundred or so passengers. I think we also do that route occassionally to clear freight back logs.Light yes......good performance though!!!!CheersSteve
