744F gauge file error during installation

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,I have been using the Queen of the Skies with no problems at all for the past couple months. However, just today I purchased and downloaded the 744F. During installation I am given this error:"File ErrorThe following error occured on the file 'C:Program Files (x86)Microsoft GamesFlight Simulator 9GaugesPMDG_747400_ACS.gau'.Access is denied.(0x5)Abort - Retry - Ignore"If I ignore, I am given the same error message with the other 747400 gauge files. I found another post from a while back with this same problem. It was resolved by deleting the state.cfg file. However, this does not work for me. I am still given the error message with the 744F state.cfg file deleted, even with both 744F and 744 state.cfg files deleted.Anyone have experience with this issue or know how I can resolve the problem? Thanks a lot,Brian

A simple restart fixed the problem.I'll go put my head in the corner now.

Brian-This would have resulted from one of two problems:1) You had FS running at the time you tried the install. (oops!)2) FS was still running in the Task Manager even though you didn't know it, and as such the .gau file was reporting to the computer that it was still in use and could not be over-written with the 400F update....Either way- seems you figured it out- so no need to sit in the corner!
