MCP Hardware - opinions

Featured Replies

Hi, I have decided that I will now venture out and buy some dedicated MCP hardware for my beloved NG. I guess the only two real candidates unless I want to build it myself are the GF MCP Pro and the one from CPFlight. Can those of you who have either give me some feedback so as to make my choice easier? I realize that the GF is probably a bit cheaper than the CPFlight one, but it seems to me that the CPFlight one has more potential for extension.Thanks,:-waveBoaz

Boaz,I'm exactly in your shoes. I have today the GF-MCP but want to upgrade to a more advanced one so I'm choosing also between the CPflight and the GF-MCP Pro unit.I have decided to go with the GF-MCP Pro for the following reasons.First of all, the CPFlight is IMO way better looking and also has back lighting which looks just cool! :) The EFIS control you can purchase is also much better looking than the one Goflight is releasing soon. However, the CPflight is much more expensive and while it has more potential it also seems to be a bit more awkard to work with (the interface I mean). The Goflight modules are all very easy to setup and what's more, PMDG is releasing a driver for the GF-MCP Pro so it should have good support. And hopefully PMDG will continue supporting it with their upcoming products (although with other drivers). So while my heart actually says CPFlight my brain says Goflight (you don't want to know what my wife says...)
