  1. This addon will set me back over 2000 euros... ordering new computer based on a i76700K, a 1070 GPU... well, it was time anyway so!
  2. You have to add an exception for LPMA in the FTX vector tool. Had to scratch my head for while when I had the same problem... BTW, love that Madeira scenery. My mother lives there so I have visited the island many times and can find all the places I've been to, including my mothers house!
  3. I had no problem at all when I installed the anniversary update last night. Going from Win7 to Win10 on the other hand was a pain. I had a three hour support call with Microsoft before it was solved. The issue was related to their activation servers or something of the kind.
  4. I run my i5 2500K at 4,2 GHz on an Asus P8Z68-V mobo and it's always totally stable (well, at least after I upgraded my 500W PSU to a Corsair 850W...). I know nothing about overclocking so I simply use the Asus AI suite Martin mentions to do it for me. For me it has always worked perfectly so I'm sticking to it also on my next build that I'm planning now!
  5. I use Air Navigation Pro both when flying IRL and on FSX. You can download a plug-in that then uses bonjour to communicate with the fsx. Works flawlessly!
  6. LOL - I had to scroll waaay down! Looking forward to it
  7. Hamoody, I think you are referring to the Embraer 120 - very SAABish but still not the same airplane. Anyway, I loved the FFS 340 but it was a pity that it lacked a FMS!
  8. I must be a slow learner since I can't even count the number of times I've destroyed the engine DESPITE sitting with the tutorial in front of me... Gotta install it right away! We are truly spoilt with incredible aircraft add-ons for FSX and it's not just PMDG anymore. Sad thing there just isn't enough time!
  9. Many thanks Pete - haven't seen that before!
  10. Thanks! I've pressed every button and turned every dial but the only precipitation I've seen so far is the spit from my mouth when I'm cursing... New try!
  11. Len, I calibrate all my controllers axis and buttons using FSUIPC only and for me it's a must to first delete all the axis and key assignments from within the defualt FSX controller interface. It's a PITA because for me I will have to delete each and every assignment several times. I delete them for one controller, move to the next controller and then they are back on the controller I just deleted them from. In the end I manage to get rid of them but it takes a while.... What I also love about FSUIPC is that you can have two yoke/pedals set up connected to the sim simultaneously. So if we fly a two pilot configuration one pilot just says "your controls", lets go of the controls and the other pilots starts using his yoke/pedals!
  12. Kyle LOL - I may be from Finland but I speak Swedish which is like half Norweigan. So message got through! Thanks guys, going on a precip hunt!
  13. I am at total loss of words. AVSIM has been my home on internet since I can't even remember and seeing your name and messages pop up here and there have always been a sign of "all is well" in our little world of hobby. Everything sooner or later comes to an end but it so sad that cancer today is so common that' it almost seems to be a natural death. For what it's worth, my thoughts are with you!
  14. Alraiti, I should be good to go then - just need to find the right area! Mange takk!
  15. Kyle, I'm probably just showing my stupidity here but what more actions do I have to take to get the weather radar actually showing something, besides having ASN installed and pressing the weather radar button on the efis (and of course having precipitation in the area.....)? Do I have to add some path to some directory somewhere or activate a settingin ASN or the PMDG CDU? Do I need to have a flight plan active in ASN or is the loaded flight plan in PMDG 737NGX (and 777) propagated to ASN? It actually took me quite a while to realize I have a weather button on the EFIS , so I really don't feel like the sharpest tool in the box right now... Of course I might simply have been testing in areas without precipation, but I haven't seen the faintest radar echo yet...
  16. I have bought lots of goflight modules from them - never a problem! I've also bought from here http://www.aviationmegastore.com/ in the Netherlands and it comes equally recommended.
  17. Never have had any issues with the QW146 on my part. Love flying it although it's been a while now.
  18. Regarding configuring in FSX settings vs FSUIPC in my opinion FSUIPC is definitely the route to go! One feature alone is enough to warrant this, being able to assign different profiles to different airplanes which is simply impossible with the FSX settings. I have two quadrants so when I chose the 747 I automatically have speedbrake, four throttles and flap lever mapped to the axis and when I switch to the 777 I have speedbrake, two throttles, two reverse thrust and flaps assigned. My main annoyance with this set up is getting all the FSX buttons and axis unmapped! I delete them and then they magically return for no reason, so I have to repeat the deleting process for ages until I finally get rid of them!

Trust me on this - you don't need a demo, just GET IT!
  20. Truly a sad day and a huge loss for the world. R.I.P.

I asked the developer why iOS-versions below 6 isn't supported and got this answer: Hi Captain, What happens is that for iOS 5.1 there are some system limitations that will have impact on the usability and consequently it generates large amounts of user complaints. That's why we are not enabling it for iOS 5.1 devices. Hope you understand our concern here. Thanks for your attention and best regards, It's a pity since it worked for me but I can understand them.

Thanks Robert! Of course, it's also mentioned on the developers support page if you only have eyes to see with... I believe you can even have three ipads connected - Captains, center and FO. Unfortunately this app demands iOS 6 which I can't be installed on my first generation iPad so I couldn't try it out, but at least I had the Captains and the center CDU running simultaneously on my iPad gen3 and iPad mini. The 737 CDU app doesn't need iOS 6 so that I can run on my old iPad. It's a pity really because it runs absolutely flawlessly on that "old" hardware.

If I recall correctly it didn't light up in the 737 CDU for me either. It's just a minor niggle but it's interesting that not everybody is affected. As you said, not really what I wan't but still the best alternative.

My only issue is that there is no green light on the execute button when an action is to be verified. It only means I have to check if the green light is illuminated in the VC or simply press it now and then for good measure. Also a feature request would be an option to use a dark theme to be used in a dark cockpit. I flew EGLL-KBOS on Vatsim last night and the bright light from iPad is actually quite disturbing when everything else in the room is dark.

I haven't bought the 777 yet but at least with the 737 CDU there was absolutely no problem installing it on several iPads. I have it installed on a first generation iPad and a iPad 3 and put the FO cdu on the first one and the captains CDU on the second one. No problem at all. I find it hard to believe the 777 doesn't work the same way. Edit: bought it now but my wife have the other ipads on a trip so I could only try installing it on one. Also noticed that he has made a cdu for the aerosoft X 320. Have to get that one too!
