  1. Hi all, so this is # 2 of my "Nostalgia" series, to be continued...🙂 Here you can see the old FT Grenadines scenery which never made it to 64-bit. Runs from FSX to P3dv3.4. The helicopter is the Cerasim Bell 212 for FSX which is still in sale on their website and for a nice price. The downloadable version works up to P3dv4. And than on the last shots you can see Ant's drifter which is a top notch glider. The Grenadines can be easily reached via St. Vincent, I usually go to TVSV E.T.Joshua runway 25 and fly direction Bequia. The little islands are Bequia, Mustique, Canouan, Union Island and Lauriston. And it's only a short hop from Lauriston to Grenada, very nice to fly. The area was covered by the carribean update so also looks well (and a bit more modern) in msfs. Thank you very much for viewing! Cheers Andreas
  2. Hi all, here is aircraft featuring nice paints, most of it freeware, at Orbx YBCS Cairns on top of AUV2 which is a good addon for FSX. Comet 4 by David Maltby, great work. DC-4 by Jens Kristensen Cal Classic. HJG DC-8 63. Lockheed L-749 by Manfred Jahn and Hansjoerg Naegele, started in FS9. PBY Catalina, Aerosoft. A "must have", Ant's Drifter. ATR-72 by Carenado, works well even in FSX but if you fly into heavy scenery like Melbourne you will get OOOOOM and CTOOOOO in 32-bit sim. 🙂 Perfect in P3d 4.5. B29A by Virtavia. B-737-400 by Kittyhawk/Eric Cantu. Another FS9 model. B757-200 by Captain Sim. B777-300er by Project Open Sky. Not that big but good to fly and by Milviz is this Cessna C310. It's a freebee today for FSX/P3d, they sell it for MSFS at Blackbird. B377 Stratocruiser by HJG. B707-320 by HJG. B727-200 by Vistalliners/Eric Cantu hostet by HJG. Has a great 2d panel, no vc. Tons of fantastic paints. A300-600R by Thomas Ruth. His models all have a working and rather good looking VC, very useable aircraft. He created great freeware. A330-200 by Thomas Ruth. A330-300 by Thomas Ruth. A340-600 by Thomas Ruth. Aerocommander 690 by Carenado, this one is really hot to fly, absolutely great. Thank you very much for viewing! Cheers Andreas
  3. OK, this may sound a daft question, but where does VoxATC look to get its radio frequencies? I use Plan-G for flight planning, which is pointed to the FSX Scenery.bgl, and decided on a short VFR flight to Shoreham (EGKA). Plan-G gave me an ATIS frequency of 125.3 for Shoreham, however VoxATC told me to use 130.97. I was able to listen to ATIS on both frequencies. 125.3 is the 'old' FSX frequency, 130.97 is the current real-world frequency, so they're both 'right'. I'd like to have a single frequency that I can look up with confidence prior to my flight but I can't figure out where VoxATC has got the 130.97 frequency from. I've used ADE to check the ATIS frequency for the airfield, but every .bgl file I can find gives only 125.3 - nowhere can I find any mention of 130.97! I've used Windows search to find all .bgl files that have Shoreham or EGKA in the name and none has a frequency of 130.97; I've even looked at the .bgl files that I've switched off. Clearly I'm missing something, but can anyone tell me what??? I could simply use ADE to set the ATIS frequency to 130.97 so Plan-G agrees with VoxATC, but that rather skirts the issue and I could well come across the same problem on future flights. I'm using Orbx Shoreham, Orbx England, Orbx Global, UK2000 VFR Airfields, MyTraffic.

  5. Hallo, I fly the default FSXSE CRJ700 a lot. The VC is decent but the texures are not high rez enough for me. So I'd like to fire up GIMP and tweak them to make em sharp and HD. I want to do to the CRJ what the OzX team did to the default Goose (they did a HD Goose Redux). However I cant seem to locate the VC texures files. Im looking for the instrument panel, the cockpit windscreen pillars, the circuit breaker boards etc. The panel folder only has the BMP files for the 2D panel. Im guessing the VC and its textures are in the Bombardier_CRJ_700\model Bombardier_CRJ_700_Interior.mdl Am I right? What program do I need to access the VC? How do I open a .mdl? Is there free software that can do it? Finally, has someone already done this? Created a HD version of the default CRJ VC? I dont want to reinvent the wheel. I've searched extensively and the only ones Ive come across are tweaks to the external model but none for the VC. Just thought Id ask in case Ive missed it! Cheers :)
  6. Hello everyone, my name is Matthew Smith and currently I have the opportunity to start up something for the community. This could be a Virtual Airline, flying club, etc... It will be really good as it will have a good and easy to use website, detailed briefing system, detailed tracking and much much more. I need your help to tell me what you would like to see in the community. So far I have come up with a few of my own ideas for what this could be; A virtual British Airways, however it will be different from the others as you will not have to take an entry exam and the minimum age would be 13+ (as of vatsim and IVAO regulations), SWISS virtual, this will be a free one to join and will still offer unique features as stated above, finally a Virgin Atlantic virtual. Please reply to this topic if you like any of the ideas stated above. I am also open to other ideas that you would like to see so if you would like to see something else, please reply to this topic below. Remember: This will be build for and around you because after all your ideas are incredibly important to me and i'd love to hear your thoughts, Thanks.
  7. Hey guys, i was wondering if any of you have missing textures "Holes" in places you have flown to? If so, do you know how to fix this?
  8. Hello all, Sorry in advance if this is the wrong way to post on avsim because this is my first time posting on here. So I am a full on x-plane user for years and after watching so many videos of people fly the pmdg 777 I had to buy it myself. Once a load up the 777 in fsx:se none of the buttons work and the landing gear is missing and the engines are missing the blades. I know I am doing something wrong I just can't find it!. Please help because I just spend 90 bucks on the plane and really want it to work. Thank you, -Leo Brougher
  9. Hi I am working on how to be able to link a HID Macro button to a certain gauge or the other way around I am VERY new to coding and such, and are beaten by the confusing situation regarding coding gauges and macros I am trying to code a macro to my APU gauge in my flightsim FSX I did find a default FSX command to toggle APU, but my gauge wont react to the command I am using a spare keyboard so I cant tell if a command is working without the gauge activating also as a ref Any help is much appreciated
  10. Hey guys, so i have both the NGX and 777 but when i open PMDG operations center it picks up as if its installed in FSX. I have FSXSE, but it bugs me that the OC is not picking this up. The planes work fine when i start FSXSE. Do you guys have any suggestion on how to fix this? Thanks!
  11. We are pleased to set up a new forum for those interested in Shared Cockpits. Dave Hodges (DaveCT2003) has volunteered to moderate this forum mainly for Shared Cockpit users but also those who want to use your flight simulator to fly with others using the multiplayer features. This forum was formerly set up under FSX but we decided to move it out from under FSX so that it might generate more interest and users of other flight simulators can participate too. It is realized the features may not be available for all flight simulators at this time but that could change in the future. Dave hopes to get more members in the flight simulation community involved in shared cockpits and multiplaying.
  12. Hi there, is there any alternative to FSRecorder for FSX Steam Edition (or P3D)? In my system I've installed only FSX Steam Edition, no FSX no P3D. The author in its own forum said has no time to develop a new version for Steam/P3D. But someone told FSRecorder 1.3 works quite fine with some limitation. I wouldn't want to arm my system so ask you which are these limitations and if are there problem installing 1.3 on a single FSX:SE configuration. Alternatively, is there any freeware/payware software (or W.I.P.) to substitute FSRecorder? Thanks so much in advance.
  13. Hi all, Rather new to simming and this is my first post after just joining the Avsim community (I do apologize if this thread is in the complete wrong place) So recently when I've been flying on FSX:SE I've been ALT + Entering to get into window mode and then check ATIS and Skyvector and other sites on Chrome while flying but as soon as i get into window mode and click on my desktop FSX crashes. I've got some event viewers which I think should help someone hit the nail on the head here and basically any help is appreciated. Do bear in mind I have been googling for about 2 weeks now a fix to this and have still come up short. Disclaimer: I am using a laptop and it actually runs really well 20-40 FPS with FTX sceneries, REX OD and Aerosoft A320 which is surprising but it does run well. These crashes never used to happen! Straight from my event viewer I get 2 Application errors - First one Faulting application name: fsx.exe, version: 10.0.62615.0, time stamp: 0x559f9a9a Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 10.0.10586.306, time stamp: 0x571afb7f Exception code: 0xc0000008 Fault offset: 0x00026e13 Faulting process id: 0x1e8 Faulting application start time: 0x01d1d66d78f5fe82 Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\fsx.exe Faulting module path: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll Report Id: 5bf49a66-b20a-4ad4-84eb-507cc3247b61 Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID: Second one Faulting application name: fsx.exe, version: 10.0.62615.0, time stamp: 0x559f9a9a Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 10.0.10586.306, time stamp: 0x571afb7f Exception code: 0xc000041d Fault offset: 0x00026e13 Faulting process id: 0x1e8 Faulting application start time: 0x01d1d66d78f5fe82 Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\fsx.exe Faulting module path: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll Report Id: 02ed35b1-1e73-4012-a337-253b641027e0 Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID: Let me know if anyone needs any more information and I will try my best to get it for you. 14. Hi Folks , i have a problem with the "On-Self Aircraft Shadow" function. the shadow appears on the edge of the wings and sometimes the shadow totally covers the plane (moving/zooming the camera) , this problem only occurs on FSX Native aircraft this problem doesn´t occur when Shader 3.0 Mod by Bojote is installed ,but i changed to FSX Steam Edition and i can't use the shader 3 mod Sorry for my bad english , im not a native english speaker Douglas C-117D Manfred Jahn Sys Spec: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.8 OC Radeon HD6850 1GB GDDR5 (Catalyst Omega 14.12) 8GB RAM Windows 7 Ultimate 64
  15. I can't find the config file, there for I am unable to enter wideview = True as I have 3 monitors. Now instead I only see FSXSEConfig.exe witch it doesn't open . Could someone shine some light on this? to me would be unplayable if they decided to remove this option. Thanks
  16. I've been having trouble recently with the 737 and 777 when attempting to play online. Both aircraft load up and run perfectly fine in free flight but when I load up the aircraft and attempt to fly online my displays stay black and nothing is clickable, let alone functional. I am running the aircraft on the Steam Edition of FSX. As I recall they had worked fine at one point but for whatever reason, when I attempted to fly the last few days the aircraft do not properly load in multiplayer. It looks like it tries to initialize upon starting up but nothing happens. Is it just me that has a case of misfortune or am I missing something? I have done a reinstall of the 737 but that did not fix anything, and I have all the SDK's installed so I ruled that out as well.
  17. So.. I have a very weird bug in FSX SE. Whenever I open a new window that pops up on the screen where windowed FSX is displayed (like Windows Explorer), FSX's picture freezes (I can't do anything with the camera etc.) but the simulation continues (I hear the noises) and there is sound! Plus, I can still use my hotkeys for EZDOK and switch views while also hearing the corresponding inside/outside sounds.... What in the name of flightsimming god could be causing this? EDIT: I can still get the Exit To Main Menu and Exit FSX screens but not the top-bar when holding ALT. It's like the simulation's picture just stopped solely.
  18. Does anybody know if the Altitude button Four zones for increasing / decreasing altitude is mapped to keystrokes that can be mapped to joystick buttons, etc. the altitude and the other complex button controls as well.. I have a large 4K screen, and when I reduce the cockpit zoom size, the four zones for the altitude start to overlap. Sometimes it is too close to the top of the button, sets the bug to the current heading. Really awkward! Thanks!
  19. Hi, I've recently downloaded Ultimate Traffic Live for FSX steam edition and I am having a few difficulties with the AI traffic textures. When parked next to AI traffic up close, it's fine. However if you zoom out to take a wider look at the airport and other AI traffic, the textures for the aircraft are awfully blurry? My default AI traffic (Orbit airlines, world travel etc) also used to look this way too. I've looked online and this doesn't seem to be a common fault. I can't seem to see anyone else having the same issues. I don't believe it to be my specs either:Ryzen 7 and 2060 RTX Graphics Card. If anyone could provide me with the fix for this then that would be hugely appreciated!
