  1. I am trying to utilize P3D v4's multiplayer functionality to connect with another simmer over the internet. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find a way to connect with another player outside of a LAN. We have tried connecting directly to each other's IP address with "unable to connect" messages. Has anyone had any success with multiplayer? Any thoughts or ideas would be much appreciated.
  2. I'm hoping someone can help me out. I've run FSX for a long time, but haven't done much multiplayer. I played with 2 friends via gamespy a number of years ago, and we had a pretty good time. Wanting to play again, I set up an extra machine as an independent server... made sure the firewall and router settings were set up correctly as well. I am in Northern Virginia, one of my friends is 20 minutes away, and the other lives in San Diego. The friend who lives 20 minutes away was able to connect to my server just fine via IP direct connect, but the friend in San Diego wasn't able to connect at all. He did multiple restarts, and even restarted his router too. We used to all fly together on gamespy without a problem. Does anyone have an idea on why this isn't working? Any thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks!
  3. Help ! I cannot get the pmdg 777 started in multiplayer mode. I end up with no initialisation of the plane, no landing gear and black cockpit screens, no FMC screen either. My buddies of the virtual airline all can fly their 777 in multiplayer mode. I use FSUIPC 4 because of earlier joystick problems. Any suggestions ? Kind Regards, Michel Van Ginneken Birmingham virtual Airline.
  4. I heard that gamespy is down, so there aren't any lobbys anymore so i have to know the direct IP. So how do i connect without gamespy? (i know this is VERY old news but i haven't got on FSX for months) So is there any server that would take me under their wing? (pun intended) I would like to find a server where i can fly aircraft preferably in a group. Any tips? (i don't currently have a mic but i will be getting one ASAP)

  6. Hi Gents, Hope you'all are having an excellent summer / winter - "Highmike" . Well, it comes around about this time of year that worlds busiest airport gets changed from ? to my little neighborhood - Oshkosh (KOSH) & the EAA convention. The past few years our 'ol competitor, FS-MP, has hosted a fly-in using the published VFR procedures to get there. Do you all want to get on MP at one time for one, or more, short VFR flights from ? to EAA? (60- 100 nm --> KOSH) Get together, and, try to get the controllers flustered? Kiddin - the more the merrier! FS-MP is quite a bit different than our race style setup - No TS & No FSHost, it uses the internal FSX MP system, quite well at that. There are quite a bit of some rules, some of which are - - No fast movers. (not sure how that works, military jets?) - Proper frequency tuned in cockpit for comm. - No chat while on freq. -The approaches to KOSH are fixed from FSMP for this event. I hope it is up to the controllers discretion for alternates. ( IE 36R, Warbird Is. 27/36(L/R), Short 27 from FISKE, 18 from the gravel pit, etc.. ) The official NOTAM is here - http://www.airventure.org/flying/2013_notam.pdf And of course, the event site - http://www.fs-mp.com/ I'm thinking ,,,,, A slew of Connies, haven't tested for MP problems, to Warbird Is. (WARBD) for a 36 or 27, then do it again in your own ship. ( Vintage, Homebuilt, Warbird, etc.. ) Discuss. Again I hope you are all having an excellent "yellow flag" :-) Roman P.S. - I just reinstalled Flight Simulator 2002 and it is better than it ever was.

  9. Anyone have a solution for flying with another sim online? I guess game spy is no longer available. Thanks.
  10. Hi all The reason I got back into FSX was to teach a friend how to fly. This worked well on the default aircraft but as he progressed and we chose more complex aircraft to fly shared cockpit wasn't supported. We're at the stage now where we are starting a VA with an emphasis on multiplayer flying, Eclipse Virtual. I'm sure many of you share the same frustrations and I started to think of workarounds to this. The issue seems to be that the gauges can't talk to each other if they are not created in a format FSX can understand. I was wondering if it would be possible to create some software that bypassed this, or indeed, if any software already existed that would send the commands from one cockpit to another without having to understand the gauge logic. My thought process was as follows; FSUIPC can log commands within the sim i.e. If I was flying the PMDG 737 NGX and pressed the ARR/DEP FMS switch then then that command would be logged. Could some software not just send that command to the other player and have his ARR/DEP button initiated too? I appreciate that the information on panel start would have to be identical, switches in the same position, fuel load the same etc. but I lack the geekery needed to see any paticular problem with this. As with all good ideas I'm sure this has been thought of before! If someone with the knowledge could enlighten me as to the issues with this I'd appreciate it. Thanks Samson
  11. Hi, We are to virtuell player which run in a multiplayer setup each commanding own plane (using own pc), I wonder can voxatc works as a central atc for both PC`s, if answer is no anyone know if there are any plans/roadmap for this kind of setup ? Brgds Soren

  13. Does anyone know when exactly multiplayer will be shut down? My guess is in less than 15 minutes, when today's aerocache is over.
  14. Very happy about PMDG finally release the Boeing 777, I'm very excited with my new plane, so I invited my friends join my multiplayer session after duty, then I found a very big problem! Host's 777 is normal, but players who join his session (like i'm join my friend's session), any display、any buttoms all can't work in my cockpit, both engines' fans are gone, landing gears aren't down.... Is the some kind of bug in this new T7? sorry for my poor English Hasegawa Kobato from Japan
  15. Hi guys, I was just wondering what would happen if two people were playing multiplayer, but one person didn't have the aircraft that the other person was using (e.g. my friend doesn't have the NGX, so what would he see if I flew it on multiplayer?). Also, what would happen in the same scenario, but if we were sharing the aircraft? I want to know because I'm planning on doing a flight in the NGX with my friend where I'm flying and he's a passenger. ^_^ I just want to make sure it's actually possible.
  16. Hello all, I CTD when ever I fly the Southwest Warrior 1 or New Livery for PMDG 737-800 NGX. This is what it gives me in event viewer. The program fsx.exe version 10.0.61637.0 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Action Center control panel. Process ID: 21fc Start Time: 01d08762ea6d396b Termination Time: 31 Application Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\fsx.exe Report Id: Cheers, Bryan
  17. The other day Ron had requested a photo of a cockpit of which I thought I had - didn't. Looking thru the 8000+ photos/images again would be a chore.. Then I remembered "Irfanview", the Swiss Army knife of dealing with images. Going through those 8000 images took just 20 minutes. ))) While experimenting a bit with the "slideshow" subset of Irfanview was able to isolate just the flight sim folders and use those. Then it dawned on me, by using certain settings within slideshow I could show all of them in just a short amount of time. So here you have it - 4796 images in a little movie going back to my first year of RTWR ( think FSHost ) and include events from other sites. These are not checked for content, they may or may not include parts of the 3173 images uploaded to Dropbox (newer MP/RTWR photos) & are in no particular order. Let your mind creep back in time by viewing or downloading (535mb) here. P.S. - I should really seek some treatment for hoarding! ✈️ 👀 😂
  18. Hi Folks Following occurred on Windows 7. YMMV. Hadn't been in multiplayer for quite some time, (> 6 months), and even longer since last using voicecomms mic/headphones. Investigating missing aircraft from Hangar, following Stonelance's info request, when 2 players unexpectedly joined my session. No response to my in-game text messages, but noticed 1 player using voicecomms, (icon was active in LLHC of window), Dug out headset from drawer, and tried untangling cable/plugs, meantime crediting profile with yet another destroyed airframe, then attempted to voice communicate. N.B. For all aspects throughout, Control Panel's Playback Volume/Recording Level indicators test mechanisms indicated both playback & recording levels as being OK. Game sounds were reasonably leveled, but voicecomm's volume was extremely low. I could just hear that the player was speaking, but not loud enough to discern what was being said. I then tried the following, and for each adjustment, returned to in-game flight, to test whether 3rd party could hear me - - Initially tried W7 System Tray's mixer/volume controls, with no appreciable difference. - Tried adjusting FLIGHT's OPTIONS AUDIO menu, same result. - Tried adjusting LIVE settings, again similar. LIVE's Voice test-panel confirmed mic was working ok, albeit requiring slightly higher volume of speech than normal. - Tried in-game, but other player couldn't hear me. - Tried Control Panel's Sound applet, again same. - Restarted both 'audio' and 'audio endpoint builder', with same results. - Disabled/renabled audio device, again same results. - Repeated restart for audio/audio endpoint builder, again same. - Repeated LIVE's voice configuration & tests, again still same low level. - Tried adjusting FLIGHT's OPTIONS AUDIO menu. In all cases, despite maxing vols/mic-sensitivity/etc, none of previous would improve/increase audio levels for - - Bar-Graphs to display > 2 of 10 - Other player to even hear that I was talking, (versus open mic). Then it clicked - I remembered that, since my last FLIGHT voicecomms session, I'd played with, & configured W7's native 'Speech Recognition'. Launched control-panel's SR applet, performed its mic-test, which supposedly passed ok, but suspiciously, the bar-graph showed almost 99% speech in yellow band, i.e. way too low. Repeatedly tried several adjustment options, none of which improved microphone's response. Tried the 'Advanced Speech Options' applet, and its various 'Microphone' config buttons, which initially did nothing new, till I clicked 'Advanced', and switched from 'Use Preferred Audio Device', to 'Use This Audio Device'. Whatever it was, Clicking Apply 'unlocked' the sensitivity & boost aspects, permitting adjustment, and resulting appropriate microphone sensitivity. Clicking OK, unexpectedly initiated a required reboot, (my apologies JH for session closure). Bottom line - Your 'Speech Recognition' configuration profile settings apparently take precedence, overriding your microphone sensitivity settings. HTH ATB Paul
  19. Hi there! New member here so I apologize IF I'm posting this in the wrong part of the forum. Anyway, is there anyone out there who has the VRS TacPack who'd also want to practice some dogfighting with me, or maybe some bombing runs or even carrier ops (using Javier Fernandez's Nimitz)? I haven't gotten a chance to try it out in multiplayer yet so if you're interested, send me a message or just reply here. The aircraft I'd be flying most of the time is the F-14D by Dino Cattaneo but I of course have the VRS Superbug F/A-18E Super Hornet as well, not to mention the IRIS A-10A and the F-35 and T-45C (the two latter also by Dino Cattaneo) but you can use any aircraft that is TacPack-enabled since I already got all the ones that currently use the TacPack. //Imrahil
  20. I remember seeing pictures of many players hunting the AotD together, and I thought it looked really fun. Is anyone still doing this, because I'd like to experience this at least once before multiplayer shuts down.
  21. Hi all, some might know about the (completely free) FSCloud.net multiplayer system (http://fscloud.net). It is supposed to work with FSX and P3D, bringing together all of them in one multiplayer system. We are always happy about more users experiences regarding the FSCloud per se as well as the APPs you can startup from within (like Human ATC app, Groupflight, World Tour, ...). The client is easy to use: Download - Install - Start FSX or P3D in freeflight mode at some gate - Start the FSCloud, that's it. You will be able to see other players' planes nearby and fly together with them (or do your own flights). It's best to deactivate AI airtraffic for not mixing up FSCloud players and AI traffic (so far it is no requirement). Most functions should be self-explaining, like the ENTER key menu (hit the ENTER key inside FSX with the FSCloud running) or the overlays. On the other hand some things might still not be optimized that's why we are happy about even more testers / players (there are around 10 - 40 pilots online most of the time, not yet really enough to stress test the system). We are thankful for all experiences users share with us about this multiplayer system. Thank you
  22. MS FLIGHT International This is a link to a group on Facebook for Microsoft Flight if anyone is interested in joining it, click the link above. I just found it a few weeks ago, but they post info on group flights, cool screenshots, repaints and other random stuff (basically just another forum like AVSIM). Just thought people might be interested. Enjoy! -a1stogg :t4020:
  23. Both my room mate and I are having this problem on separate computers. When I click "sign in" after entering my account name and PW; nothing happens. Not even the message "connecting..." and then an error message; just nothing at all happens. When I unplug the router I get an "unable to connect" message; which leads me to believe that my network is OK and the problem is with Gamespy. I am in SE PA USA and use a local internet company called RCN. Multiplayer was fine two days ago which was the last time I tried before this issue came up. Anyone else having issues? Donald
  24. Hi guys, First of all: Thank you PMDG for your outstanding products. I wonder if it would be possible to have a sound option for online (VATSIM etc) flying. Now it's very hard to understand the controller since the cockpit noice is so present. In real life a headphone would keep that noice away and only transmit ATC, in FSX all sounds come through my headset. If only we could have an (let's call it) "multiplayer sound" option that would reduce all other noise (engines, environment etc) and focus on ATC.... I hope we can!
  25. Hi, I'm releasing a cross-platform multiplayer client for joining FSX (boxed), FSX:SE and Prepar3D (possibly X-Plane at some point). Available here, http://pmem.uk/joinfs. Here's a list of current features: Pilots can join with different simulator versions FSX (Boxed), FSX:Steam, Prepar3D. (Possibly X-Plane in future). Record aircraft and play back recordings live to other pilots in a network. Overdub new aircraft onto a recording. Animations are transmitted over the network; landing gear, elevator, ailerons, rudder, propeller, canopy, lights and smoke. Pilots can be present on virtual ATC networks at the same time as JoinFS. This means that all aircraft in the JoinFS network will be shown using smooth low-latency movement. It's free to use (donation-ware). Thanks, Peter
