  1. Hi, I'm releasing a cross-platform multiplayer client for joining FSX (boxed), FSX:SE and Prepar3D (possibly X-Plane at some point). Available here, http://pmem.uk/joinfs. Here's a list of current features: Pilots can join with different simulator versions FSX (Boxed), FSX:Steam, Prepar3D. (Possibly X-Plane in future). Record aircraft and play back recordings live to other pilots in a network. Overdub new aircraft onto a recording. Animations are transmitted over the network; landing gear, elevator, ailerons, rudder, propeller, canopy, lights and smoke. Pilots can be present on virtual ATC networks at the same time as JoinFS. This means that all aircraft in the JoinFS network will be shown using smooth low-latency movement. It's free to use (donation-ware). Thanks, Peter
  2. The other day Ron had requested a photo of a cockpit of which I thought I had - didn't. Looking thru the 8000+ photos/images again would be a chore.. Then I remembered "Irfanview", the Swiss Army knife of dealing with images. Going through those 8000 images took just 20 minutes. ))) While experimenting a bit with the "slideshow" subset of Irfanview was able to isolate just the flight sim folders and use those. Then it dawned on me, by using certain settings within slideshow I could show all of them in just a short amount of time. So here you have it - 4796 images in a little movie going back to my first year of RTWR ( think FSHost ) and include events from other sites. These are not checked for content, they may or may not include parts of the 3173 images uploaded to Dropbox (newer MP/RTWR photos) & are in no particular order. Let your mind creep back in time by viewing or downloading (535mb) here. P.S. - I should really seek some treatment for hoarding! ✈️ 👀 😂
  3. I am trying to utilize P3D v4's multiplayer functionality to connect with another simmer over the internet. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find a way to connect with another player outside of a LAN. We have tried connecting directly to each other's IP address with "unable to connect" messages. Has anyone had any success with multiplayer? Any thoughts or ideas would be much appreciated.
  4. I'm hoping someone can help me out. I've run FSX for a long time, but haven't done much multiplayer. I played with 2 friends via gamespy a number of years ago, and we had a pretty good time. Wanting to play again, I set up an extra machine as an independent server... made sure the firewall and router settings were set up correctly as well. I am in Northern Virginia, one of my friends is 20 minutes away, and the other lives in San Diego. The friend who lives 20 minutes away was able to connect to my server just fine via IP direct connect, but the friend in San Diego wasn't able to connect at all. He did multiple restarts, and even restarted his router too. We used to all fly together on gamespy without a problem. Does anyone have an idea on why this isn't working? Any thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks!

  6. Hello everyone, I would like to introduce Desk Pilot a free add on for Microsoft Flight Simulator X that gives you the ability to share your PMDG 737NGX cockpit with another user over a lan or internet connection. Here is my website link(Javascript) http://www.desk-pilot.com or (No Javascript) http://www.desk-pilot.com/No_Java/index.html From there you may download the current version of Desk Pilot. Desk Pilot Version 1.4.2 is currently in beta stage and some of the standard features have been disabled to incorporate shared cockpit at a faster pace. Due to that fact please only report problems related to the shared cockpit feature. Things you will need are a legal copy of the PMDG 737 NGX and Microsoft Flight Simulator X with all updates same goes for the other user. Desk Pilot is split into two programs server(captain) and client(first officer). For information on how to setup the server, client please refer to the Desk Pilot Readme.pdf and DP Shared Cockpit Crew Manual.pdf Desk Pilot's system requirements are as follows: Minimum System Requirements Pentium III 1GHz or equivalent Windows XP (Home/Pro) / Vista / Win7 512 MB of Ram You must have the latest DirectX version installed Fully DirectX compatible Graphics Card with 128 MB Memory or more and Hardware 3D Acceleration DirectX compatible Sound Card Recommended System Requirements Dual Core 1.8GHz or above Windows XP (Home/Pro) / Vista / Win7 1GB of Ram You must have the latest DirectX version installed Fully DirectX compatible Graphics Card with 256 MB Memory or more and Hardware 3D Acceleration Direct X compatible Sound Card Those requirements represent my highest library requirements. Although Desk Pilot it self was developed on a stock i7 @ 2.8GHZ and tested on a stock core2 duo @ 3.0GHZ.
  7. We are pleased to set up a new forum for those interested in Shared Cockpits. Dave Hodges (DaveCT2003) has volunteered to moderate this forum mainly for Shared Cockpit users but also those who want to use your flight simulator to fly with others using the multiplayer features. This forum was formerly set up under FSX but we decided to move it out from under FSX so that it might generate more interest and users of other flight simulators can participate too. It is realized the features may not be available for all flight simulators at this time but that could change in the future. Dave hopes to get more members in the flight simulation community involved in shared cockpits and multiplaying.
  8. Hi there! New member here so I apologize IF I'm posting this in the wrong part of the forum. Anyway, is there anyone out there who has the VRS TacPack who'd also want to practice some dogfighting with me, or maybe some bombing runs or even carrier ops (using Javier Fernandez's Nimitz)? I haven't gotten a chance to try it out in multiplayer yet so if you're interested, send me a message or just reply here. The aircraft I'd be flying most of the time is the F-14D by Dino Cattaneo but I of course have the VRS Superbug F/A-18E Super Hornet as well, not to mention the IRIS A-10A and the F-35 and T-45C (the two latter also by Dino Cattaneo) but you can use any aircraft that is TacPack-enabled since I already got all the ones that currently use the TacPack. //Imrahil
  9. Hi all, some might know about the (completely free) FSCloud.net multiplayer system (http://fscloud.net). It is supposed to work with FSX and P3D, bringing together all of them in one multiplayer system. We are always happy about more users experiences regarding the FSCloud per se as well as the APPs you can startup from within (like Human ATC app, Groupflight, World Tour, ...). The client is easy to use: Download - Install - Start FSX or P3D in freeflight mode at some gate - Start the FSCloud, that's it. You will be able to see other players' planes nearby and fly together with them (or do your own flights). It's best to deactivate AI airtraffic for not mixing up FSCloud players and AI traffic (so far it is no requirement). Most functions should be self-explaining, like the ENTER key menu (hit the ENTER key inside FSX with the FSCloud running) or the overlays. On the other hand some things might still not be optimized that's why we are happy about even more testers / players (there are around 10 - 40 pilots online most of the time, not yet really enough to stress test the system). We are thankful for all experiences users share with us about this multiplayer system. Thank you
  10. Hello all, Whenever I try to load in the PMDG 737NGX into a multiplayer session with friends, the aircraft always bugs out and sinks in to the ground as if it had no landing gear. It dances all around the place! This only happens on multiplayer, and when disconnecting from the session the issue then persists in single player. The only way to fix it is to restart the sim. Any thoughts? Oliver Moss

  12. Have successfully loaded P3Dv4. Am having problems with the shared cockpit facility under the Multiplayer function. If my partner hosts the session then I can join his session and we are able to swap aircraft control back and forwards between us. If I host the session, although we are told he has joined the session AND joined the aircraft, this is not so. In this mode he does not see any of my control movements. Also when he changes radio frequency or transponder code they move in "my airplane", but do not move in "his airplane". It appears there is a connectivity breakdown. We have checked the port forwarding (all as recommended) and have also tried switching off our firewalls to see if the problem lay there. All to no avail. If anyone has any ideas we would be glad to hear them
  13. I've been having trouble recently with the 737 and 777 when attempting to play online. Both aircraft load up and run perfectly fine in free flight but when I load up the aircraft and attempt to fly online my displays stay black and nothing is clickable, let alone functional. I am running the aircraft on the Steam Edition of FSX. As I recall they had worked fine at one point but for whatever reason, when I attempted to fly the last few days the aircraft do not properly load in multiplayer. It looks like it tries to initialize upon starting up but nothing happens. Is it just me that has a case of misfortune or am I missing something? I have done a reinstall of the 737 but that did not fix anything, and I have all the SDK's installed so I ruled that out as well.
