  1. I have isolated the CTD's to this combination: 1) the upgrade to Windows 11 and 2) FS2Crew FBW Project. This combo is causing the sim to crash inconsistently - doesn't crash at the same point in time each instance of the sim. I can't yet isolate whether it is a driver, the command center, the app, the sounds, etc. All I know at this time is by disabling the FS2Crew FBW Project app and command center, the sim doesn't crash using FBW A320 solo If I find out more, I will report it (assuming you don't already know about this). Before the upgrade to Windows 11 this didn't happen, not even once, for me. I hope this helps and I look forward to more.
  2. Just got the v5 ready to run. Everything works on v4. V5 keep Crashing after loading screen is finished at 100%. Also something strange is happening every start of the app makes the sim generate scenery things ( I can't recall the name sorry ). Everything is out of the box. Regards S.
  3. Hi Everyone, I just wanted to mention something that may or may not have been brought up before. I've been getting P3D stopped working errors in all versions in Windows 10 if I was using the Aerosoft Airbus and tried to change airports through the menu. I also would get crashes at times if I fiddled with the FMC inflight. I did a fresh install and the problem happened again. The source of the problem, in my case, was that I had the wrong box ticked in the Airbus configurator. There's a choice between what navdata to use: Navigraph or Nav Data Pro. Make sure to check the right one if you are using one of these products. Just thought someone would like to know... John
  4. Hello, I've been battling a fatal error in FSX caused by a panels.dll module failure. I have googled and tried many things before resorting to posting a new topic but I'm stumped and could really use some help. The CTD seems to only happen with the A2A C172 but here are the details from my event view. Any help would be great, Thanks! Faulting application name: fsx.exe, version: 10.0.61637.0, time stamp: 0x46fadb14 Faulting module name: panels.dll, version: 10.0.61637.0, time stamp: 0x46fadb59 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x000320c0 Faulting process id: 0x232c Faulting application start time: 0x01d25c8a4525c083 Faulting application path: E:\FSX\fsx.exe Faulting module path: E:\FSX\panels.dll Report Id: 1f0001dd-c886-11e6-9668-e56af7577eda Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID:
  5. Hi All, I have been flying the 747 v3 since its release without any hiccups and loving every second of it, until ... Over the last two flights I have done, I have had a CTD of the "FSX has stopped working and now needs to close" type. Both had one thing in common: both crashes happened upon retraction of flaps from 10 to 5. No hardware involved (using "F6" key to retract). The crashes seem to happen mere seconds after pressing the "F6" key ... I can hear the sound of the handle clicking into position and as soon as there is flap movement ... boom, CTD. Worst part about this is that at both times it's like the maximum level of immersion in the sim has been reached ... heartbreaking! :-) Any ideas? Thanks
  6. Hello fellow flight fans, Firstly, I'm new around here, and please let me know if I am in breach of any rules which I may have missed. Also, I do apologise if this is the wrong section. Now, I recently bought FSX on Steam to re-ignite my love of aviation, but I have ran into a problem. I've installed a few freeware mods, and installed the REX 4 DLC. I also have a joystick set up, with drivers installed. However, after about a week since purchase/12 hours of gameplay, I can now longer start up a flight. I can start FSX, use the menu and what not, but as soon as I start a flight I incur a CTD, and a beefy 'fatal issue' message. Can I note that I'd been running the game in the exact same state, nothing changed for the last couple of days, not installing anything. I have also updated a lot of my drivers. After searching through a few things, it revealed that the kernelbase.dll file was to blame. However, after trying multiple different fixes, including the UIAutomationCore.dll fix, and the AMD Gaming Evolved fix, I am left at square one. I'd like to try avoiding a complete re-install, as that would be painstaking, but I'll do whatever it takes. On a final note, I've run a Windows install check, and it revealed no issues, so it shouldn't be an issue with the OS itself. Thankyou in advance for your time and assistance, -Jacob Specs are as follows: i7 4790 3.4GHz AMD R9 380 4GB 16GB RAM (Samsung) 512GB Samsung 850 Pro (for OS and Steam itself) 2TB HDD (for Steam games, notably FSX)
  7. Last weekend I tried doing a flight between KMIA (MS default) and SACO in FS9 (default, reworked AFCAD, default terminal buildings added and photoreal ground textures I generated in SBuilder 2). Keeping with Murphy's law, I was getting a CTD just at approach. After checking with AppCrashView, I saw it was a StackHash error, for which the CTD guide did not give me the best hope. I was fearing a reformat... After trying again (I had just saved 30 NM before the airport), I ran Process Monitor along with FS9, until it crashed. After weeding out all the DLL crashes (every single DLL in FS9 reported buffer error), I found the culprit was a missing winter texture (it's winter in Southern Hemisphere). Turns out that I only generated summer and night textures (and autogen), and forgot to generate all other season bitmaps. After generating all season textures, I could land with no issue. Hope this helps when you see this type of CTD.
  8. I've found that even with the most up to date Community addons, I'm still having CTD's with the latest Asobo update. I renamed my Community folder and ran the sim and it was fine. But that's not fine with me because addons are what makes the sim. Aside from removing my 100+ addons and slowly restarting the sim to test...anyone found a good way to see what addons could be causing CTD's?
  9. Hello. Recently I have been dealing wit P3D v3.1 freezing, hanging up, and then crashing to the desktop. This only happens when I use the windows key to select another application to use during a flight. I use Aivlasoft EFB, so it's virtually impossible for me to fly without doing so. I'm very confused about this issue as I haven't touched hardly any settings or installed new addons in quite some time, and I never used to have this issue. Below is my Event Viewer crash report: Faulting application name: Prepar3D.exe, version: 3.2.3.16769, time stamp: 0x56df48ce Faulting module name: g2d.dll, version: 3.2.3.16769, time stamp: 0x56df4993 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x00209ae0 Faulting process id: 0x2ad0 Faulting application start time: 0x01d24d943b08eb4f Faulting application path: E:\Prepar3D v3\Prepar3D.exe Faulting module path: E:\Prepar3D v3\g2d.dll Report Id: 8ac9a9e7-b995-11e6-aa38-d0509968e0fc Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID: The only thing I've done recently is began using PTA tool for some enhanced visuals. It's hard for me to believe this would be an issue because the faulting module is g2d.dll which if I remember correctly handles plain text messages and such. The problem is also difficult to recreate. I completed a 3 hour flight last night with PTA tool tweaks enabled and switching tasks as usual, but this morning it hung up and crashed after just switching over to the Aivlasoft EFB 3 or 4 times in an hour. Any advice is appreciated. Mark
  10. Hello I have been playing FSX SE for a while now and recently upgraded my PC significantly and have up until the last couple of weeks have been playing fine. It all started when the in game ATC would start repeating itself, or i'd crash when trying to change settings and calibrate controllers, and realised this was down to installing the HD freeware texture pack, so I got rid of that and bought REX 4. Before buying rex i thought i should do a clean install as the HD pack even though deleted was causing issues so I uninstalled it, and was notified by a third party program the FSX SE was causing issues in the registry and recommended i fix the issue, so i just clicked fix and watched registry files get deleted. I didnt think much of it at the time. When playing on a clean install, all mods installed and applied it was great, until about 30 mins into flights, some less some more the default ATC would get stuck like a broken record, just repeating the first sound of the letter such as "airbus" would be "a,a,a,a,a,a,a" and so on. It would repeat for a few minutes then the ATC would have no sound and just use the Text box which was fine. Then I would land the aircraft, and I have found that most times the crash occurs taxing off the runway, the screen would freeze and say not responding, however these freezes happen at the start, during and after landing. And also when trying to calibrate joystick in flight, the game crashes which was not there before installing the HD texture pack, although I have done about 6 or 7 clean installs so it cant be the HD pack thats affecting that? I looked in the event viewer and 9/10 times this is what I get: First error is Application error: Faulting application name: fsx.exe, version: 10.0.62615.0, time stamp: 0x559f9a9a Faulting module name: XAudio2_4.dll_unloaded, version: 9.26.1590.0, time stamp: 0x49bebf9f Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x0003a070 Faulting process id: 0x289c Faulting application start time: 0x01d252d4b86078f7 Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\fsx.exe Faulting module path: XAudio2_4.dll Report Id: 221d762f-33f0-4cc3-b597-97d8bc0f3d83 Faulting package full name: Second error is Application hang: The program fsx.exe version 10.0.62615.0 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. 11. Hello, I am gettind CTD usign Flight Crew with MSFS2020 and A32NX. Only them, as I had some ideas what was the cause of it, so I tested sim only with these addons enabled: CTD message CTD Text: I know, that it caused by Net Framework, so I did, what was written in this topic: Plus I checked Net Framework in Windows 10 and restore it's files, then updated to lates version. In normal OPS from A to B it seems, that everything is fine, at leaste I did a couple of flights without CTD. But if you Go Around, CTD happense after a random time, even if you don't currently goint through any checklists. 3 flight - all CTD with NET Framework. As I run out of ideas how to fix it, so writing to this forum for advices.
  12. I'm a little stumped here, P3dv4 runs great unless I try to originate a flight out of TNCM. If I do I get a ctd - scenery loads to 100% then the sim just sits there with the message that P3d has stopped. I am using the stock P3d scenery. The only recent additions to my sim were to buy and install FlyTampa's CYYZ and the Carenado B1900 HD. I can't see how either of these would have an effect. But, hey you never know. Other scenery, both stock and add on seem to work fine. Any ideas? Kevin
  13. Hi, I have been using PSXseeconTraffic for the past few weeks, and it has been my favorite addon! Unfortunately, however, my sim, FSX: SE, has been crashing since I've used it lately. When I don't run PSXseeconTraffic, the Sim does not crash, so I would assume there is an issue with that software. What could I do to fix this? Sometimes, I just position a plane at a gate, and watch the planes fly and taxi! Any help you can provide is appreciated. Regards, Kevin Davis
  14. Hello! As the title suggests i need help with some wierd problems. i have enjoyed fsx steam for 3700 hours. After a fresh reinstall of FSX STEAM i have been experincing crashes 15 to 10 minutes into the flight, and i dont have any autogen/3d objects(buildings, trees, etc). I reinstalled because of the no autogen/3dobjects. but even on a fresh install and no addons, no tweaks in the CFG and anything else didn´t touch the settings, i get the crashes 15 to 10 minutes into flight (NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE even with addons and tweaked cfg) and oddly enough no 3d/autogen objects. Please help i am quite lost here. I have tried the UIautomationcore.dll thing and compatibility mode setting in proberties. I have reinstalled multiple times today to no avail, i am quite sad over here! Any help would be usefull! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Pictures taken at friday harbour with default settings, cfg and no addons. http://imgur.com/z6l4Nad http://imgur.com/KSuXY24 http://imgur.com/8sot3In ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Regards Oscar!
  15. Hi there, well after fresh install of p3d.3.4 and all addons, there is time for testing. 3 tests without problem (average 7h duration, on PMDG738), then tongiht, 4th trial and baam - CTD. Checked the error log and that's what was there: Faulting application name: Prepar3D.exe, version: 3.4.9.18400, time stamp: 0x57d9b14e Faulting module name: SimConnectP3D3.dll_unloaded, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x571e4e28 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x13d41eb0 Faulting process id: 0x21e4 Faulting application start time: 0x01d22fd9dc19f48f Faulting application path: E:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D.exe Faulting module path: SimConnectP3D3.dll Report Id: 117c0380-9c01-11e6-9f34-74d435e2a771 Now, what could cause that? I've the latest FSUIPC and fresh installs of next addons/programs: AS16+softclouds, ORBX base+vector, ezdok, accufeel, rwy bumping effect, fscaptain, ivap and acars. The error occured after 7 hours of flight with PMDG738 on holding above LEPA (added aerosoft's airport). So, what to do? Thanks for help..
  16. Hallo I've had this CTD for 5 or six times always after around 5 hrs... I have researched a lot of topics and haven't found a soltution for that :( Comes apparently often before. 17. Does anyone know what that problem would be, the edges of the screens of my planes are flashing, it happens with the 737 PMDG Aerosoft A330, QW 787, TFDI 717 but it does not happen with the 777 or 747 or Maddog and FSL It started when I traded my 1650 for the 5700XT PMDG is only a example the 717 made this to
  18. Hi simmers! New to this forum, & in desperate need of some advice. I have recently installed Orbx global base, and couldn't believe the improvement on default FSX. I think the excitement was so intense that i just had to purchase vectors. Installed okay, although took a while to download/ extract (about 3ish hours) went to fire up a flight & whilst the scenery was loading I got the dreaded 'Microsoft flight simulator has stopped working'. After trial & (many) errors I found that the vectors file CVX is causing the load to crash. (From what I can see this is the file that contains any type of water features) has anyone else experienced this, or know any reason why this happens? I'm desperate for a fix. I am running Windows 10 on a new PC (fresh install) I5 4690k / MSI GTX 970 Standard FSX (non steam) with all service packs DX10 preview mode (with DX10 fixer) No add ons or tweaks for cfg files Any advice would be much appreciated.
  19. Hi guys, i've a really strange issue with P3D 3.4.14 (i updated P3D and my graphic card drivers): Prepar3D Client: 3.4.14 NVidia Drivers: Latest (375.95) Windows 10 i7-6900k GTX1080 Everytime i open up a document in photoshop (and sometimes after closing photoshop) Prepar3D hangs (it's not directly crashing, just not responding. I still hear the sound but can't interact anymore). If i click on the P3D screen it says that P3D isn't responding anymore and the only opportunity i have is to close and restart it. It happens every time when i'm using Photoshop. I've testet several other programs and could reproduce the issue also with the Software "Wirecast" (which is a broadcasting software) but until now not with other programs. There is no crash log in the event viewer (just one after i close P3D manually that says that Prepar3D.exe couldn't run on windows anymore, but with no further information). My guess is, that it has something to do with applications which are also using the graphic card (but i'm not totally sure). I tried the following to make sure it isn't related to add ons or settings: - Completely removed all entries from the exe.xml and dll.xml files (in both directories) - Removed all other simobject entries from the simobject.cfg file - Removed the prepar3d.cfg file and let P3D generate a new one - Made a fresh install of the P3D Client After that i also removed all of the following files (as suggested in another thread): - %PROGRAMDATA%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3 - %LOCALAPPDATA%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3 - %APPDATA%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3 - %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Prepar3D v3 Files Nothing has helped yet. Any ideas? Best regards Florian
  20. Hi fellow simmers, First of all I am obviously new to the forum, but I'm not new to flight sim, so any dumb solutions such as "run FSX with administrator rights" I've already tried so please give out actually helpful solutions to my question please, thank you. You can assume that I run FSX with Admin rights every time. I also did not install FSX in ProgramFiles (not even in C drive) so there should not be a permission problem. I need to provide some background to my problem first. My computer is completely 100% stable 24/7 with FSX-SE and I know that because my computer used to crash with FSX but I figured out that the RAM isn't stable, so I bought new RAM and problem solved. Also my addons are also 100% stable, even with the new Chaseplane Alpha. I have been playing FSX for about 5 months before my problem arises with absolutely no crashes whatsoever (except the few times I got 4096 textures for Fly-Tampa Toronto, that was a disaster). So no solutions that require any hardware checks please. I am also not currently using yokes and throttle quadrants and are flying with Xbox controller that isn't an issue because I have used it ever since I got FSX. Also please note that I am absolutely honest and did not pirate anything(maybe some music that I did 5 years ago, but not FSX addons). My specs: i7 6700K overclocked to 4.5GHz but 100% stable 16GB Corsair Vengeance LED 3200MHz for stability reasons I underclocked to 3000 and it's 100% stable GTX 1080 that I didn't even overclock so no issue there also 100% stable Other things are not relevant right? My addons: PMDG everything Aerosoft A320 and family and the new A318 research but I didn't even run it yet so no issue there Majestic Q400 Some steam DLCs that won't cause any issue FSXS Packages emersion packs and Chaseplane that I used with joy and no problems and definitely better than EZdok GSX and their Vancouver scenery Fly Tampa Toronto and Montreal that I tweaked so no OOMs will happen Justfly's traffic 360 Orbx Global and Vector that I also tweaked so no OOMs will happen Maybe something I missed but they won't cause any issues anyways The suspected problem causing addons: FSUIPC Black Box Widebody pack Now my problem happened when I upgraded my Black Box A330 to the newest version(0.85.1 and downloaded the installer from blackbox's official site so not a virus). When I run the installer, it installed FSUIPC for me again, and when I run FSX, I'm getting 7 FPS and Chaseplane says my FSUIPC isn't configured properly. I also know my hardware isn't causing any problems that could get FSX to 7 FPS, because the only time that it did really low FPS is when Nvidia pushed out new drivers and made the graphics card run at power save mode. I haven't updated my drivers so that won't be a problem. Also my CPU is under utilizing with the max SINGLE CORE utilization at 60% (contrary to the usual 100% on that core, core 3 to be specific). I suppose that it must be a problem with FSUIPC so I downloaded the newest version from the Pete Dowson's (or however his name is spelled) site and installed it again. My next part of the problem started. The installer asked to check for product keys, and I have them, so I chose check for existing, but it errored out and quit, so I decided to install it again, this time entering the key fresh. This time the installer said key is not valid. I googled and apparently the system date isn't set correctly, but I always use automatic time settings and so it won't be wrong. I tried again and it still fails to validate, but for some reason after a few clicks it validated successfully, so I believe it to be successfully installed, and that is confirmed by the install log. Now when I start FSX again, it proceeds to load up the addons, and when it tells me to trust FSUIPC, I clicked yes, and it loaded for about one second, then crashes. Now I decided to delete FSUIPC.dll as per instruction on how to uninstall, and run FSX again, and it crashes at the point when it's supposed to run FSUIPC, so now the problem is coming to a dead end. Anyways I thought if it's not FSUIPC's fault, then it must be Black Box's update, because everything is running smoothly before the update, so I run the uninstall program for Black Box, but it errored out. I then deleted all Black Box Stuff from my FSX folder and made sure that there's nothing Black-Box-related in the folder and restored FSUIPC from recycle bin. When I run FSX, it still crashes at the exact same spot, in fact I run FSX so many times to troubleshoot that I already know when it's going to crash - right after Chaseplane loads up (and Chaseplane is working fine). So I deleted FSUIPC together with the Black Box stuff, and FSX still still still crashes at the same spot! I already feel like smashing the keyboard then but I didn't XD. So I restored both FSUIPC and Black Box and FSX still crashes. At this point I downloaded Visual Studio (straight from Microsoft so it's not virus if any members can even point that out as the problem) and opened the crash dump files. Every single file from the point I started crashing has the same error (0xC0000005 and called "This thread tried to read or write to a virtual address for which it did not have the appropriate access" but I did run it as Administrator??? What???). It is also the error code for the crashes that happened when my RAM isn't stable. I googled that up and people say you can just verify game cache in Steam, it will just delete your scenery textures and won't affect Addons. So I did that and Steam redownloaded 10045 files 3.5 GB big, and FSX still crashes. Now that I'm ###### and visual studio wants me to debug it, so I did, and FSX seems to crash on api.dll, and further deconstruction told me that it crashed at line 68D77470. Now I did everything I could and so I decided to come to Avsim for help as I can't possibly know how to edit Hexadecimal code. And I guess the pictures of the debugging can't be used... P.S. no answers could be found on Google so if anyone can find a solution I'd be so grateful! Also I'd like the solution to be as easy as possible, so not reinstalling FSX altogether but I will try that if nothing else works Also I can't seem to change my signature until Nov 28 is that the rule here? Finally if there's any grammar mistakes please point them out I have slight OCD Regards, Kevin Xie Actually I think the title doesn't best fit the problem but whatever I can't change it anymore :(
  21. Okay so after finally getting fsx back up and running after a previous crash (decided to reinstall windows) and was succesful, managed a few long range flights in the 777, however have stumbled into a rather strange problem. I was having some weird activity with some throttles so decided to download fsuipc, however was crashing after 5 mins with the following event viewer log: Faulting application name: fsx.exe, version: 10.0.62615.0, time stamp: 0x559f9a9a Faulting module name: unknown, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x00000000 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x1e2f63bc Faulting process id: 0x%9 Faulting application start time: 0x%10 Faulting application path: %11 Faulting module path: %12 Report Id: %13 Faulting package full name: %14 Faulting package-relative application ID: %15 So i decided I would be better off without fsuipc. Now however I can succesfully run fsx for a long period of time, currently doing a flight from london to moscow, however at points throughout the flight I will notice that the clouds no longer move and that FSX has frozen and then the blue loading cursor arrives, i found a fix where if I leap over to my pc in time and unplug my joystick from the usb port, the game continues, but if I am too late, i crash to the desktop. I havent tested if it works with just the joystick usb, but I imagine all of them would work. Also just to add, I dont get an error log on this crash, nothing. It isnt logged in the event viewer. Thanks, Will.
  22. Hi everyone! I've been using p3d since July, before that I was fsx user. With every next CTD, I'm getting more and more nervous. Among others, surely I've encounered also p3d's stereotypical "msvcr120.dll" problem on long flights, using PMDG. I've read all of comments on that 45-page long topic on LM forum and tried all of things, guys mentioned there. Then I just figured out that best way to avoid this error is to make flight which lasts less than 4 hours. HOW DOES IT HAPPEN: With recent update (v3.4), I've encountered about 4 "UNKNOWN MODULE" errors already and this is what makes me wanna throw my PC through window. On previous version of P3D V3, I had maybe 2 or 3 in 3 months of flying (I'm very frequent flyer). They usually - but not neccessary - happen on the second half of flight, usually on approach or even final approach. Not at the same airport, so I rule out the scenario problem. Sim just freezes for about 3 seconds (the sound continues and the circle-loading mouse icon appears). After that, "P3D stopped working..." window appears. Not any of OOM message, so I rule out memory. I updated all my C++ and .NET framework (to 4.6). I even returned back to a bit older nvidia driver to rule out the vidocard-driver problem. And I always turn off all anti-virus softwer and start p3d as admin. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here is the latest CTD log: Version=1 EventType=APPCRASH EventTime=131193972950972925 ReportType=2 Consent=1 UploadTime=131193972951492955 ReportIdentifier=6810b9f0-842c-11e6-a1cb-74d435e2a771 IntegratorReportIdentifier=6810b9ef-842c-11e6-a1cb-74d435e2a771 WOW64=1 Response.type=4 Sig[0].Name=Application Name Sig[0].Value=Prepar3D.exe Sig[1].Name=Application Version Sig[1].Value=3.4.9.18400 Sig[2].Name=Application Timestamp Sig[2].Value=57d9b14e Sig[3].Name=Fault Module Name Sig[3].Value=unknown Sig[4].Name=Fault Module Version Sig[4].Value=0.0.0.0 Sig[5].Name=Fault Module Timestamp Sig[5].Value=00000000 Sig[6].Name=Exception Code Sig[6].Value=c0000005 Sig[7].Name=Exception Offset Sig[7].Value=00000000 DynamicSig[1].Name=OS Version DynamicSig[1].Value=6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.1 DynamicSig[2].Name=Locale ID DynamicSig[2].Value=1060 UI[2]=E:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D\Prepar3D.exe UI[3]=A fatal error occurred. 25. Hi! PMDG 747 Immersion maybe causes CTD. I am using Win10 P3D 4.3. Virus program in off mode. Has ChasePlane and PrecipitFX installed. CTD happens during Taxi, T / O and Approache. I use your recommended settings for the Immersion 747. My computer and all software are updated. CTD happens at different airports and under different weather conditions. I use PTA, REX Sky Force 3D and HIFI AS for P3D.
