The GeForce GTX 770 is a month old and I'm not touching it's settings at all. I do have all graphics sliders in FSX maxed out but a few settings unchecked and AI planes and airport vehicles set to zero. it was handling it so well the first few weeks I didn't see that being a issue. I didn't change anything in my FSX config file. I have made changes in the simobjects airplane folder to shut off some panels to clean up the aircraft select menu. The crashes happen at different times, like today I was just changing the heading selector on the MD-11 with the mouse wheel and it crashed. Other times just flying the default Cessna 172 it crashed. Thanks for any help.
  3. Hello, I tried this figure out on my home forum, P3D forum, but nowhere no effective help yet. I am new user of Prepar3D, changing from FSX. And sorry for my english. Three days ago I installed Windows 10 on new SSD HDD, check or install drivers for HW and then the first application I installed was Prepar3D v3.3 (last version I could download). After install I start the sim and hit OK in the menu. I just wanted to look how it looks. No addons. Then loading started, and when the status bar reach 100%, the program froze there a little while and then crash. No message, no problem, just dissapeared. So I tried for at least 5 times, everytime the same situation. So I was checking event protocol during loading and there was no fault log (that one with the red exclamation mark and nothing else either), only some log where was marked prepar3d.exe as a faulting program, but no faulting module or other information. When I had a problem in FSX, the event protocol was the first thing I started to look what happened. Only once there was faulting module as facilities.dll, but in other 20+ tries to runup the simulation there was nothing. I really looked forward for new sim, better performance and first of all I need it for my bachelor thesis and the first experience with this sim I got is CTD, wich I have many times with FSX, that so sad. I asked on this on P3D forum, but no effective advice for this time. http://www.prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6312&t=119573 Here are the things I tried to figure it out without effect: Changing planes, locations, time Delete Prepar3D.cfg Added AffinityMask = 84 and erase path in Situation=... (see this on the other topic with same problem: http://www.avsim.com/topic/443954-p3d-will-not-start/) Repair the program Reinstall the program Updating all drivers I have Made sure that my primary graphics is my nVidia and not the motherboard adapter. (I cannot simple disable it, in my BIOS is only option for setting one of them to primary. The other one will be disable automaticly. I dont know if there is any other option. I have ASRock B75 Pro3-M). My desktop machine: Windows 10 Pro 64 bit Intel Core i7-2600 3.40 GHz 16 GB RAM nVidia GTX 960 I please for any advice. Thank you for your help, have a nice day. Jiri
  4. Anyone else getting crash to desktop after installing this product? Since installing I am getting an abundance of CTD based on the G2D.dll error which was not present prior to installing this product. The only difference in my setup is the MV B350i. I am using FSX Boxed edition with acceleration. I am thinking it may have something to do with text in the FMS or the MFD that is causing a buffer overflow. I will try the same route in a different aircraft (non MV B350i) and see if I can get the same overflow to happen. Just to be clear, as I know how ultra-sensitive the MV team is on anything they believe is criticism of their product, I am starting with the most likely product (the one I last installed.) I am simply trying to sort out what is going on and see if I am the only one experiencing a particular CTD after installing a product. I understand that the product is unfinished and I am NOT asking the MV Team for any help. Looking to the user community on this one. Thank you,
  5. Hey Folks. Crash to desktops in Windows 7? Well I cannot speak for Windows 8 or XP, but I can speak for 7. This find, was THEE most important find for me when it comes to FSX crashing. Whether using DX9 OR DX10. Please give this a read. Since I performed this fix I have yet to have a CTD, or OOM crash. Here it is. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/273341-heres-the-apparent-fix-to-fsx-crashing-win-7-x64/
  6. Hi simmers! New to this forum, & in desperate need of some advice. I have recently installed Orbx global base, and couldn't believe the improvement on default FSX. I think the excitement was so intense that i just had to purchase vectors. Installed okay, although took a while to download/ extract (about 3ish hours) went to fire up a flight & whilst the scenery was loading I got the dreaded 'Microsoft flight simulator has stopped working'. After trial & (many) errors I found that the vectors file CVX is causing the load to crash. (From what I can see this is the file that contains any type of water features) has anyone else experienced this, or know any reason why this happens? I'm desperate for a fix. I am running Windows 10 on a new PC (fresh install) I5 4690k / MSI GTX 970 Standard FSX (non steam) with all service packs DX10 preview mode (with DX10 fixer) No add ons or tweaks for cfg files Any advice would be much appreciated.
  7. A little tip I picked up from my VA Chief that worked like a charm for me. I suddenly started getting CTD and FATAL ERRORS after 2 weeks of flying fine all over the US but suddenly I was FATAL ERRORING while trying to depart Tampa to head back home to Texas. I could not get off the ground. Going through start up checks.. CRASH... Taxing CRASH. Thinking about a steak dinner, CRASH. This is something you should do frequently, say after every 3 or so long flights. This is considered Basic FSX Maintenance to keep your sim happy and relatively crash free on this type of crash problem. 1. Navigate to your %appdata% folder and go into LOCAL (Not ROAMING). Find your Microsoft folder and your shader folder. Go into the shader folder. Delete the Shader10 and Shader folder if you have them. Be sure you don't PERMANENTLY delete them. Just delete them to your recycle bin. If something screws up you want to be able to restore the files. 2. Navigate to your C: drive to the ProgramData folder. Navigate to your Microsoft and then FSX folder inside the ProgramData folder. Delete the Facilities and SceneIndexes folders. Do not touch any files outside these folders or the SceneryCache folder. Once again, do not permanently delete these files. Leave them in your recycle bin encase you need to restore them. 3. Start FSX and let it rebuild your Facilities, Scene Indexes and Shader folders. Fly! PROFIT. This little maintenance tip got rid of my CTDs and I was able to come home to Dallas Love in Texas. Hope it helps anyone out that is experiences this type of sudden crashing after your FSX was working fine for days. This type of CTD commonly shows up as D3D11.DLL or StackHash type crashes in Event Viewer/AppCrashViewer.
  8. I am receiving an error when moving my aircraft from one point on the map to another using the map. The audio gets real quiet and affect other programs like Team Speak. I am CTD when using an ACMI program that automatically moves my aircraft to last known position. I know the first thing you may think is its the ACMI. This is being looked at in another forum. So please don't rule out any other possibilities because I am still seeing an issue when it is not running. This only happens in one specific area in the world and its just outside of New Zealand around Auckland AFB. It doesn't matter what AC I am using but I can count on CTD once I cross KENNE. I reparied both FSX and acceleration and verified all my scenery files are correct. I run Windows 7 64 bit Intel® Core™ i7 3770K 3.5GHz NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 670 (2GB) Thanks for any assistance Drew R.
  9. I have a relatively high end PC. i7 3770k, 16gb RAM, GTX titan gfx card. When running fsx on highest settings with ORBX England 2.0 i get horrible frame rate, under 10 fps. It will also crash to desktop and say my computer has run out of memory. Anybody know why this would be? I would have thought my set up would be able to handle it. Many Thanks
