  1. Has anyone come across the problem of the ATC window not opening? I have a hotkey bound and made sure that it wasn't a duplicate. When I go to the bar across the top all options are available except for ATC which is off and grayed out. Maybe something to do with a voice pack? Although I can usually assign the copilot to do ATC and it works fine. Unfortunately this means that I'm not able to get any ground services since it is integrated with the ATC menu. Any help appreciated!
  2. Hey guys, I am currently working on a set of AI Traffic skins for the Cathay Pacific Fleet (some previews below) and it got me thinking about maybe putting together a package including the liveries, flight plans and model (or linked to providers if I can't distribute the models directly) I am looking at using real world schedules pulling data from API's for the proceeding week. At this point its just an idea, it would be free (or maybe donation ware for the schedules) I have been out of the community some time and just wanted to see if people still use AI traffic and also if there would be any people out there prepared to help me test. Thanks a lot and as mentioned some previews...
  3. Hello friends. I am new to the forum. I am a flightsim enthusiate for more than 20 years and use this forum quite a lot on the back ground. Anyways I have problem for a long time with my FSX steam traffic. I cant get to work any other traffic software like traffic 360 or ultimate traffic or even AIFP with my FSX steam. I can only have WOAI traffic work. I dont know what the problem is its quite frustrating and pecular. Taking AIFP as an example I use the software, downloaded its AI model, followed all the relativly simple steps to create the bgl file and place it in the scenery folder in fsx steam. But I dont see any traffic in fsx steam. Is there something that is stopping traffic to show up? from other programs?. And if that is the case than why WOAI shows up and not others?. I am quite frustrated now. 😬😬Any help will be appreciated. 😩😩Has anyone faced something like this before?. 😯
  4. Hi there, I am flying on VATSIM, I don't turn AI traffic on unless I fly online. The problem is some AI models are not visible. I can see some people are flying with an A350 or B787 on VATSpy, but they are not visible in the sim at all. I have been using WOAI for a while, good fps but their AI traffic packages are not sync to realworld airliner, some models are missing (like A350, B77W,B787), and some airlines are not exist any longer. This is what I see in the sim with WOAI, I can see a user is flying a 77W aircraft, his ICAO code is filled correctly in the flightplan. But I can only see him flying a 772. And there is a serious problem, I have collided to an A350 last time when I was on the ground of WSSS. The user flied an A350 on X-plane. I didn't get any red text error in vPilot. And it didn't use default model as a supplementary to fill the blank. Therefore I can not see him in the sim. By the way, he saw me as a DC-10 in his sim(actually I am flying with PMDG 77W). And that leads to an accident. I tried several paywares, I got stutters using UT2, the aircraft models in MT6 are poorly designed and the fps is unacceptale. Therefore I decided to keep up with WOAI, is there a way to have more recent aircrafts (like A350, B789 etc) with WOAI that can be used by vPilot? or solving it using an alternative method? Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated. Regards, Gordon To clearfy, I didn't literally enable AI traffic. I only use AI while flying online. Some pilot client (like vPilot) will use AI models even it is disabled by default.
  5. Occasionally I'll fire up FS9 and do a little plane spotting, here was a project I completed a few years ago when I finally learned how to set up AI traffic from scratch. Tedious but well worth it and great for taking those old Historic Jetliner Group birds out for a spin. All timetables are from around 1993 to 1994. Taken at default LAX with sweetfx and enb nothing too fancy.
  6. Hi, everyone, this is my first post in a couple years. Yesterday I attempted to make the most realistic flight sim video yet. Let me know if you guys have any tips or suggestions for future videos. Enjoy! https://youtu.be/MYtyIEN_1Gw
  7. As many of you know many of the 747's are beginning to be retired by all of the different airlines which operate them. However, they still appear as traffic in FSX. I installed them using WOAI however I would like to know if i'm able to make the simulator select a different model for that route for example making it so a Singapore 777-300ER is used instead of a 747-400 -Thanks Is there any other way to install traffic like WOAI?
  8. I saw a reference recently to a utility that the post said was available "somewhere on the internet" that allows FSX users to reduce the sometime ridiculous speed of vehicle road traffic. I've searched but had no success. Can anyone tell me where I might find it and what it's called? Cheers Ian
  9. AI traffic can be a FPS killer at even moderate settings. This situation has not changed much since FSX. Many of us like to decent amount of traffic around, but this finally becomes a tussle between volume and FPS. To help this situation I have written a program which automatically tries to manage the traffic. The logic is pretty simple, you give the program a target number of AI aircraft, by default 150. Every 60 seconds the program will check how many AI Aircraft are there and then it will delete AI Aircraft above this number. Aircraft farthest from your aircraft are deleted first, so traffic around you should remain largely unchanged. You can change the target number to your choice based upon your hardware. Traffic Settings within P3D: You should set the the traffic density in P3D to something which gives you decent traffic around you. For example I use MyTraffic, so I set the density to 35%, which I think reflects RW traffic. In my situation my FPS goes from ~12 to ~18 with this program in KJFK. How to use: Unzip the contents - https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_5rZp8PTz0qcFVMWGo1bl9ENG8/edit?usp=sharing Start P3D, let it come up fully Start AirTrafficManager.exe "Check" the "Auto Optimize" check-box The first clean-up will happen 15 seconds after you check the check-box, and after 10-15 seconds of that you will notice your FPS increase. I have not programmed in VB.Net for ages, so if you are going to try this out then you are a beta-tester Notes: 1. This program runs separately from P3D so hopefully will not crash it. 2. If you get a message in the console saying unable to connect to P3D, please re-start AirTrafficManager. 3. Although the check for AI Aircraft is done every 60 seconds, the clean-up happens 15 seconds after the 60 seconds Requirements: 1. P3D v2.3 2. FSUIPC Acknowledgements: 1. 10. Has anyone any news regarding creating traffic? I haven't found anything on a traffic editor. I am afraid that on Day 1 I won't be able to create AI traffic to follow my plane to an airfield that I choose. I will get frustrated if this is not available on day1.
  11. I started getting into real-world flight plans. I want to first try out the "vanilla Microsoft" approach, thus I want to make flight plans using the TrafficToolbox SDK. Here is where I get tripped. I created a arrivals/departures database from my local (major) airport's website, and have a real-world AFCAD for it as well. (funny thing, after I did this, they changed the website and do not offer complete timetable anymore, I did it by extracting data with in-browser JavaScript). Then I create a CustomRoutes-like file. Sure enough, it compiles. But 99 lines in, it fails to find parking spots. Now, here's the conundrum: I get it can't find parking spots, the error is fine, but I find scheduled airplanes sitting on the ground 2 days prior to their departure (according to TrafficToolbox Explorer). If they're gonna sit at my airport, of course there won't be any parking spots. Why this? I have made the plan of all the flights for one airline with dual-leg circular rutes per the timetable, and tried various departure times, but they keep "sleeping" at my airport. Same if I reverse the route. What am I forgetting here? Thanks
  12. Hello. I have UT 2 with migration tool. When I was in Win 8 with P3D v3.5, I can successfully download it. But now I have new PC with Win 10 and P3D v3.4, it just doesn't work. I can neither see any traffic nor error messages. So I really have no clue what is happening. And after struggling for some time, I decided to use default AI traffic. I move all the sliders to the right but still no default traffic! Now I'm thinking if this is P3D problem or UT2 problem... Could anyone please help? :( Thanks in advance.
  13. Just completed a nice flight into Boeing Field. As I made my ILS approach I got a traffic alert warning. I could not shut off the alert warning even after deactivating the TCAS. Even after I landed and started to taxi, the warning continued despite my attempts to shut it off. I'm not sure what triggered it in the first place, but the function is useless if it goes off at any nearby ai traffic (such as boat traffic in Elliott Bay??). Might there be a solution to this? Thanks in advance --WH
  14. Hi, the following happened to me when climbing out of Sheremetyevo 06L using the 777 freighter: At approximately 2000ft, I got a traffic warning (in yellow). I looked out of the window and couldn't see anything. A few seconds later, I got the red traffic alert, the system telling me to descent, which I did, of course. Then "increase descent". At the end I descended with up to 5500ft/min and picked up a lot of speed, 335kts. Of couse, since the alarm silenced, I wanted to climb again, and that worked... 5500ft/min climb, the speed slowly coming down to 250kts again. However, I didn't want to climb that fast, instead I would have preferred to do a more gentle climb, reducing power perhaps. But this was impossible. I pressed the yoke hard down, all the way, but the plane did not react, only to lateral input. I also wanted to reduce power, since we were so awefully fast, and I feared for the structural integrity of the plane (I think I even used speedbrakes in one moment), but this was impossible, too, and it wasn't possible to disconnect the Autothrottle. So I guess that I met the Flight Envelop Protection. Is it correct that the plane behaves that way? I would have expected such behaviour in an Airbus, not in a Boeing. Would it have been possible to take *more* control of the aircraft by deactivating Flight Director and switching A/T totally off? A/P wasn't on after all. I'd appreciate any input on this situation... tbh, it was a bit scary!
