  1. Hi all, after installing AIG Manager & Traffic Controller (I followed the included manual as well as two separate highly viewed YT tutorials - just to be sure) I noticed my frames drop from e.g. 60 - 70 FPS at KLAX to around 20 - 25 FPS... Am I missing something? This is what I followed EXACTLY: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NbrrArabaLk&t=2052s&ab_channel=2020fs'ers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZKO9dCBSRM&list=WL&index=3&t=334s&ab_channel=2020fs'ers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kuHlhSKZ38I&ab_channel=2020fs'ers and also this (just to be sure) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-XM415ibRsM&t=1212s&ab_channel=OverKillSimulations The reason I am asking is because I have seen MANY people say that AIG doesn't really impact FPS all that much... System: CPU AMD Ryzen 9 5900X Motherboard ASUS ROG Strix X570-E Gaming RAM G.Skill Trident Z Neo 32GB (4X8), DDR4-3600 (F4-3600C18Q-32GTZN) GPU ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 3090 OC Case Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic Black Storage Samsung 980 PRO 2TB, M.2 Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB, M.2 PSU Corsair RMx Series RM1000x 1000W Display(s) LG UltraGear 27GN850-B, 27" Cooling AIO: Arctic liquid Freezer II 360 Ventilation: 9X Corsair LL Series LL120 RGB Keyboard Logitech G513 carbon, GX-BLUE Mouse Logitech G502 Hero, USB Sound Headphones: Sennheiser HD 58X Jubilee, V-MODA Crossfade M-100 Studio Monitors: Adam Audio T7V Microphone: Marantz MPM-1000 DAC: Grace Design Standard DAC Headphone Amplifier: Alex Cavalli Tube Hybrid (CTH) Audio Interface: MOTU M2 Operating System Windows 11 Pro
  2. I built my computer about 2 or 3 years ago gutting out everything and rebuilding from the ground up. I got an Nvidia 2080TI GPU, 32GB RAM @ 2400MHz, Ryzen 3 3900 CPU, ran on windows 10, everything installed into SSD drives (add ons are in separate drives due to the shear volume required but still SSDs). I was getting 20-30ish+/- FPS in the air with lots of add-ons and unlocked windows from the VC on my 2nd monitor. I decided to upgrade the CPU to the Ryzen 9 5900 and upgraded to windows 11. Now my FPS are the same. In fact, I fly with a VA that shows the average FPS on the final flight log and in the PMDG 737-900ER, I got an average of 2 FPS LESS than before upgrading CPU and windows. So where is the bottleneck? Is it the RAM speed? I'm considering upgrading to 32GB @ 3600MHz but would that get me better FPS? Google gives mixes reviews on if it will or will not. Is it the settings in P3D or Nvidia? I've watched a ton of videos on YouTube for P3D settings and every one is different than before - not to mention I already run better hardware than them and get half the FPS they do. What do I need to be looking at to get better FPS? I'm still only getting 14-25 on the ground when landing which is pretty bad for such high(er) end hardware.
  3. Hey Guys so i recently bought , a new airplane from Carenado and i have this issue If i load up the model with all the systems and the screens closed , i am getting a solid 50 fps , as soon as i turn the batteries on , the fps drops from 50 to 0.3 - 0.5 Please help me guys !!! :( . I Never had anything like this , with the previous carenado planes i bought . I am getting frustrated cause i am thinking i spent my money for nothing . I have a good laptop , i am not saying it's the best , of course it's not , i have an Intel core i7 at 2.20 GhZ , my graphics card is : Nvidea Geforce GT 740M , A RAM that is 8 GB and windows 7 64 bit , i am also running the 32 bit version of fsx , just cause i am used at it all these years that i've been playing it . I NEVER, neverrr had any issues with any other Carenado planes i had , But as soon as i opened this plane in fsx , all hell broke loose . I mean as i said above if i load up the plane in a state without any power and avionics i am getting 60 fps , the problems start as soon as i enable the 2 batteries . Can anyone please help me ??? . I already sent a message to Carenado , but they seem to ditch me for some unknown reason . Do you guys know any solution ? P.S. I've already tried re-installing fsx , re installing SP2 , And the Acceleration pack or however you call it , and still nothing :(
  4. I think I finally solved the problem and now have good performance and no stutters. Here is what I did: 1 Start the FS in Full Screen mode. 2 After it starts change to Windowed mode. 3 Minimize the FS. 4 Go to the Task Manager. 5 Remove any running programs, except the FS, that may be usuing SimConnect. I had one other program running that I wasn’t aware of that was using SimConnect. 6 Close that program. 7 Restart FS in Full Screen mode. I was really surprised. The frame rate went back to what it was during the Alpha & Beta period and there were no more stutters. Good Luck and I hope this works.
  5. Hi everyone! I have P3D v4.5 hotfix 2 with some addons: ORBX Global OPENLC Rex Sky Force 3D Rex Environment Force PMDG 737ngxu / 747 / 777 Aiports FSLabs 32X. My PC specs: CPU I7 6700(non k), GPU GTX 1660 Super OC, RAM 16gb My p3d.cfg is not edited and i dont use any Nvidia Inspector setting. I Fly around 20/24 fps with the NGXU or the FSLABS and i dont understand why... In xplane 11 with the zibo (4k textures) with the sliders in high and x4SSAA i get +30 fps with a good cpu/gpu usage. I have tried so many things... tweak the cfg, use RTSS, Nvidia Inspector, clean shaders, reinstall P3D, but its imposible for me get a stable FPS and smooth experience in P3D wich is a sim that i really like. Here is my P3D settings: https://imgur.com/A9logok https://imgur.com/EfXEz1q https://imgur.com/jLtA8Tx https://imgur.com/MY1pIwk https://imgur.com/fhWBcED And here a sim ScreenShot https://imgur.com/rE641Mc
  6. Yesterday my P3D installation messed up in the way it is stuck in very low FPS, we are talking about as low as 0.6 frames per second. No matter what I have done to remedy the issue it is stuck in crappy frames and I've tried everything. It lags on the ground but as soon as I pause the sim my fps returns to normal. It also lags as soon as I take off and start flying. This started after I installed the FSLabs A319 latest version for P3D v4, I was doing preflight when all of the sudden my framerate dropped to 3-4. I tried to wait it out but then it kept going, then I restarted my sim but it still lagged now it was down between 1-2 frames now. With this framerate it is unplayable.I have done some experiments so far and I have noticed a few things.- When AI traffic especially airport ground vehicles is turned off then the framerate returns to normal on the ground but when airborne it lags down to 1 frame per second. By pausing the sim it returns to normal, but as soon as its unpaused then it no longer works. - Complex aircraft such as the PMDG 747 loads fine all systems initialize properly, however as soon as I switch out to the external view the sim freezes then becomes unresponsive. Once it does become unresponsive again then it down to 1 frame per second. The sim is currently unflyable at this state, I have deleted the p3d.cfg file and it helped but as soon as I change ANY of the traffic settings it lags down again. The only way to fly the sim is with ALL AI traffic off, so I thought it may have been a few addons I have installed. One of them is the A_A Sceneries Suvarnabhumi Intl Airport, sadly this is not P4D compatible yet and stupid me decided to install that & the AI traffic installer that comes with it. The AI installer ended up adding a bunch of planes and changing the AI flight plans themselves. So the first thing I did was uninstall the scenery (since it kept crashing) and the AI traffic manager that it came with.I also noticed I had AI FSLights Reborn, uninstalled that but to no avail. Then I thought the ground vehicles were corrupted so then what I did was uninstall the ones I had from REX Worldwide Airports HD and restore the default ones I had before, but still nothing. Then while the sim was lagging I was monitoring task manager and I noticed both my CPU is down below 20% and my GPU usage is almost 0%.So then I went through the regular troubleshooting steps for P3D, Here is what I have tried so far:- Deleting the generated files such as Prepar3D.cfg, cameras.cfg, and shader caches (Didnt help) - Deleting/disabling all addons including LSH MD-80, PMDG aircrafts, AS P4D, ASCA, and EZDok. (Didnt help) - Repairing then reinstalling both the client & content from their installers. (Didnt help) - Reinstalling P3D completely (Didnt help) - Repairing all microsoft redistributables (Didnt help) - Updating my graphics driver to latest versions (Didnt help) - Running a AV scan with norton (Didnt help)I am not sure if maybe I got a virus that is interfering with P3D, if I had to guess it must have come from the FSL A319 since I never had any problems with the sim until now. Here are my specs, it's an MSI gaming laptop I have never had any issue playing games. I have Arma 3 and X-Plane 11 installed on it and they work fine, its only P3D that has this issue.Hardware:- NVIDIA GTX 1070 with 8 GB of VRAM- Intel i7-7700 @ 2.6 GHZ (overclocked by default to 3.4 GHZ)- SSD 125 GB- HDD 1 TB, 7000 RPM (this is where P3D is installed since I can't fit it into the C drive)Software:- Prepar3D v4.4- Active Sky for P3D v4- EZDOK P4D beta (uninstalled)- PTA for P3D v4- FS AI Lights Reborn (uninstalled)- Leonardo Maddog MD-82 & MD-83/88- PMDG 777-200LR/300ER- PMDG 747-400/800- FS2Crew for boththe 747 & MD-80- TFDI 717- FSLabs A320/A319 (Uninstalled)Addon Scenery:- Imagine Sim KATL (P4D)- Flightbeam KSFO (P4D)- Flightbeam KDEN (P4D)- LatinVFR KRSW (P4D)- A_A Sceneries VHHH (P4D)- Kansai Airport (P4D)I have also tried regenerating the scenery.cfg but again it still lags.If this is malware, can anyone recommend the best AV to remove it? I don;t know what to do I have tried EVERYTHING in the book, I will give more information if requested if that will help with this issue. Please help, PLEASE its been stressing me out the past day and nothing I have done is helping.
  7. I've read the argument of the influence of some 3rd party scenery and the FPS drop when switching on the B744's lights but why will the FPS drop when you switch lights on over the ocean? And why will the same airport (FSDT Vancouver for example) have NO FPS drop when I switch the lights on of a Carenado aircraft that are P3D4 compatible? And if it is only on my system, then I would like to know what is the influence of the QOTSII on my rig because on FSX everything is smooth and NO FPS drop? And lastly - is there a correlation between ORBX night lights and the B744 because in daytime everything is smooth but when the night comes ... ♪♫ ... tralalaa! Must say, I know P3D4 is new on the market and most definitely the future within the 64-bit environment but goodness gracious between the stuttering and shimmering and endless tweaking trying to solve it, it is more of a frustration at the moment than a joy. Accept when I start up the compatible Carenado aircraft and hip-hop over some ORBX terrain scenery like Norway. Then it is all smooth sailing but the moment I turn on the B744 then everything turns off ... and as I say, if my rig is good enough for a very VERY smooth FSX performance then it should surely be more than good enough for P3D4.
  8. A lot of you who use P3Dv4 with Active Sky have probably experienced the problem that when flying during sunset/sunrise with a thick overcast cloud layer, your frame rate tanks to unacceptable levels. More than four years ago, I made a video, in which I showed how to improve the performance in P3Dv3 during such conditions. In the following new video, I will revisit this problem, but this time I am using P3Dv4. You will learn how to improve the cloud performance under critical cloud conditions in a very quick, flexible and convenient way. Highly recommended!
  9. Ill cut straight to the chase, I know my system can run it just fine, but will it be able to get to a good FPS? Here are my specs (Its a laptop I know, I'm building my own pc in Christmas however.) ROG G752VT Intel I7 6700 2.6GHz 4 core CPU 16 Gigs RAM GTX 970M
  10. I wonder if i can indulge a few people to check something out for me. I have been running P3D4 since Jan (switched from FSX). I run sli 980s and have 3 27 inch monitors on an overclocked 4790K. Up until recently I haven't had any complaints about FPS. I managed to finally find what was causing random ndtll.dll faults. So now that I have sorted that out recently I've found that i have a lot of stutters and it seemed to be jerky when landing, especially at night that I didn't experience before (something has changed somewhere). I've played with a lot of the settings including disabling HDR. I get the FPS quite high. Right now when I'm sitting with FSDT PHOG on the runway with PMDG 737 FPS fluctuates around 45 to 48 at night. However if I turn the landing lights on it drops to about 28. I never had that before I don't think because I'm sure I would have noticed. That's a 20 fps hit that doesn't seem right and normal. I've just deleted the shader folder but it's still the same. I'm scratching my head on this one. I've rebuilt the config file too with no success? I've recently updated asp4 and have recently reinstall FSLABS A320 as well as spotlights. Could this be spotlights even though i'm not using the A320? Can somebody test this for me because I don't think my FPS dropped this much before when the lights on at night. SOmething is at work here. I even disabled AA for this test. Norm.
  11. C208B GRAND CARAVAN EX HD SERIES FSX/P3D ~~LOW FPS when turn on the G1000 ! why and how to fix it ? but the new 172 G1000 no kill FSP ~ very sad ~
  12. After years of tinkering with settings and add-ons I am now, more often than not, achieving stable fluid performance over most flight scenarios. The secret? Ditch the bad stuff and accept your systems limitations. We have a great hobby and should embrace the experience of a realistic, smooth flight. Many add on's are not optimised well and my system just isn't up to high demand payware. So I have taken the measure of a carrying couple of tweaks and only using high performing (not necessarily old) add on software. These include: FSX FPS set at unlimited internally and set at 30 FPS through Nvidia Inspector DX10 enabled (lovely cockpit shadows) and Steves fixer installed along with recommended Nvidia settings No AI aircraft or traffic Bloom, glare and ground shadows off High performing add on's - all steady 30FPS on my system: Anything from ORBX (Global, vector and most available countries installed (PNG a must)) ASN16 weather plus REX texture direct enhanced with soft clouds Flight 1 GTN 750 Military - Superbug (amazing performance despite the in depth simulation) / Milviz F-100 / Lotus simulations L-39 Airliner - Majestic Q400 Business jet - Flysimware lear 35 Light aircraft - Just flight Arrow 3/4 / A2A Comanche / Carenado Skymaster, PC-12, Do228 Regretful purchases - My rig just isn't enough: I Fly 747 Anything Carenado or Alabeo with G1000 All of the above is not necessarily the developers fault but rather my poor computers aging spec - I5@4.1Gz / Nvidia GTX780 / 8GM ram. Any thoughts out there for additional high performing payware?

  14. Hello Guys and Girls, Recently I upgraded to P3D Version 4.1. However, this is accompanied by some massive fps drops. They are in the VC and in the locked spot outside vieuw. They drop from 70/80+ to 7 and lower. I have an GTX1050, i7-4790 and 16Gig's of RAM. I've tried a full reinstall, also I've tried multiple PTA presets and all the sliders to the minimum settings. Nothing works. Anyone who can help me? Greetings, Erik Schlijper
  15. After a long hiatus from Flight Simulator, I have found that as much things have changed, they also stay the same. And MSFS 2020 has proven once again it's ability to treat your prized gaming rig like a red headed stepchild. I am running an Intel i5 7400 with 32GB RAM and Radeon RX580 GPU with 4GB VRAM, I am also not running on an SSD, so as you can see, barely above minimums. With my low CPU, I find myself bottlenecked with the CPU, and because it's a Katy Lake, I can't upgrade it without upgrading the MB as well. So I have to make due for the time being. These Tips are primarily written for those of us who may also find ourselves CPU choked, although others might find them useful. That being said. Here's some tips that might just make that stutter fest that you get into a bit more tolerable. 1. Be Patient - I have found that when an area actually loads (on my machine), it's not fully loaded. My poor CPU is still trying to render the surrounding terrain and objects even after I've been "cleared for takeoff". So while all those things are happening, my simulator becomes quite stuttery. The secret is, simply....wait.... I use the pan function of the cockpit camera to pan in all directions before I proceed. Initially this can be painful and chunky. But I continue to Pan around with my POV hat or mouse control until panning becomes quick, responsive and smooth. This tells me that the CPU has finished working and it's ready. Then I begin my taxi, roll out and takeoff and for the most part it is very acceptable. 2. LOD Sliders matter. These sliders are going to be the thing that makes or breaks us CPU crushed simmers. The Terrain and Object Level of Detail sliders set the distance at which the sim will transition from Lower Level of Detail to Higher Levels of detail. I have no idea the "units of measure" but it really doesn't matter. The max setting for this is 200. If you think about a "circle" around your plane. The amount of scenery that the CPU has to bring in at the outer edge of that circle is tremendous. And THIS is what is going to cause those pauses in flight after 5 minutes or so of previously smooth flight. All that Level of Detail is being brought in and your CPU has to calculate it prior to sending to your GPU to render. Lowering the radius means that the loads will occur closer to your plane, but because the circle is smaller, less data has to be calculated, and your CPU can handle it better. Setting them to both 10 will give you the best performance, but you will be brought out of the illusion with increased object pop up and mesh tearing as this refresh occurs close to your plane. There is always a happy medium, and you have to find it. You may have to adjust these based on the plane being used, altitude you are flying and speed you are flying at. The Bottom Line is: There is no "One Size Fit's All" setting...yet.. For individuals like me, everything is a compromise. Settings I use for Big Iron are not acceptable when I'm bush flying. They are different activities. So be prepared to create several different "performance profiles" that you can easily swap to when you switch planes or weather conditions. Consider your upcoming flight and what is most important. Weather? Out the window view? Cockpit Performance. A bit of forethought prior to taking off can create a much smoother experience and one that doesn't take you out of the flow as much. Hope this helps.
  16. Dear friends, After looking everywhere without finding answer, I open this post asking for your wisdom. I have recently noted a very strange behavior in some of my planes, only props and turboprops, in FSX-SE. At the VC everything is fine, I have my FPS locked at 30 and my present rig maintains that no matter where and under what circunstances. But, when I go to any exterior view (Spot, Locked Spot, Flyby, Top, even Tower), the FPS goes down to 0.5. The sim actually freezes, I must wait a time until it obeys any command at all. I am convinced that the problem is related with the spinning animation, because if I stop the engines and go to an external view, I don't have FPS dropping. Even If I have the plane with the propellers spinning and I made Ctrl+P, when it accepts the order and the propellers slow their spinning, the FPS ratio increases at same time, and it reaches again 30 FPS when the propellers are still or moving slowly. This problem affects only to some of my planes (Aerosoft Twin Otter Extended, Carenado B200...) and only since a short period of time, I have used these planes normally for years. Thanks a lot in advance for your attention and help, and best wishes, Felix FdC Oviedo (Spain)
  17. Hello. To start off, I have tried many fixes for this issue. I've tried affinity mask - this only results in the main one core being used 100%, and setting priority - does nothing. In X-Plane, I get even usage across all cores, however, in p3d, I get 10-25 fps in a pmdg747 (My friend has the same specs but a different brand of cpu, intel) and gets 40-50 fps in a 747 cockpit with flytampa boston. Now, I need to find a fix so my aircraft will balance usage across all cores. I am really confused. I have hyper threading on, and it usually uses all cores at cruise, but usually has the work put on 0,4, and 6. On the ground, core 0 is at 100% while the others are at 10-20%. CAM, my CPU monitoring software shows my cpu load as 50-60-90 percent mid flight and I still get really bad fps, 10-30 mid flight. Could overclocking help? or how can I fix this? Buy a new intel rig? Please help!
  18. I am buying a PC with a GTX 745 (4GB) graphics card and have the option for an i7 or an i5. Computer 1.) The core i5-7400 runs at 3GHz Computer 2.) The core i7-6700 runs at 3.4GHz with up to 4GHz with turbo-boost The computer with an i5 is obviously a lot cheaper and also has the option of a 128gb ssd to load the OS onto. The i7 is alot more expensive and is on the boundary of my budget for a new PC Which computer config would yield better FPS on FSX/P3D and X-plane? I do intend to use all three simulators with some addons such as aerosoft airbus aircraft REX, heathrow scenery e.t.c (FSX will be run at 1280x720 resolution FYI)
  19. Hi all, I have FlyTampa Sydney v1 on my system on P3D 4.5 - have had it for ages although I SWEAR it actually used to peform better for me a few years ago than it does now. Anyway - I was wondering it the v2 version performs better than v1 in P3D 4.5 in others' experience? Any experiences would be appreciated. I cannot upgrade to P3D v5 at the moment as I have a 980ti with only 6gb VRAM. Cheers, Rudy
  20. I just installed the B1900HD, TBM and Grand Caravan HD into P3dV4.4 and all of them are giving me a very bad FPS of 5 to 6!!! When switching aircraft, for example A2A Bonanza I get back to 30FPS inside and outside views! P.S. Frames are locked at 30 BTW. Anyone know of a reason for this poor FPS? Only does it with the Carenado Aircraft. Tested my PMDG's, Aerosoft, MajesticDash8 and all of them are working great! Thanks for the help
