I just too lazy to upgrade a CPU and motherboard and have to go through all those reformatting and reinstalltions again... That's why I am considering upgrade my gpu rather than CPU and mobo.

But will I see faster texture loading and use higher resolution texture in the scenery like Orbx airports?

I guess I would stick with my gtx470 for now instead of spending $300 for the gtx570. Thanks!

Hi Guys, I need some opinions on whether I should upgrade or not, I currently have i7 950 overclocked to 4.2ghz with GTX470 SC and FSX generally performs very well. I'm just wondering if the upgrade from GTX470 to GTX570 is worth it or not. Will I see some sort of performance increase with the 570? I really appreciate your opinions. Thanks!

All the cpu you listed was the first gen of i7. You should get the second generation i7, LGA 1155. The i7 2600K 3.4ghz overclock really well and you'll very good performance in FSX. Tommy Tse

Hello All,I posted this topic in the PMDG forum, but I would like get wider opinions so I post here as well...I fly mostly in VC with NGX. I just noticed a strange problem recently: When the NGX is first loaded up in 2D panel, I would get 20-35fps in busy airports like the FSDT JFK and on air I get way above 30s FPS, then I swithch to VC I get around 16-25fps on airports. But when I switch back to 2D panel from VC I get heavy FPS hit down to around 9-12fps. So my VC FPS is now high than in 2D panel!Does anyone know why this is happening? I never had this happen before with other add-on, but it seems to happen on all my PMDG aircraft now. Hi, there.i have experienced a problem with the VHHH scenery created by Thomas Kwong. The two runways are always above the ground no matter what.The elevation of the two runways are higher than the ground texture...anybody got any problems like this and any solution to solve it? Without a doubt, FS2k4 is a great sim. however, I don't even know when this new sim can be played as fun as its brother---FS2k2. In FS2k2, I have many add-ons, planes and panels, sceneries and utilities. But most of them does not compatible with fs2k4. That holds me back from playing FS2k4. In fact, many add-on will not be patched or manys are getting into payware for FS2k4. Anyway, this's how i feel, how about you guys? Regards,Tommy Z.
