1. Thank you also! I feel like such an idiot having re read the manual. CLEAR ON TWO -CR
2. Thanks for the replies chap and chapess i'll check out those threads and pics.

I have the logitech g25 wheel and g940 so from what i've read on simhq it should fit both sets.

Given your time again would you shell out for the r3volution over the ozone
3. Hey darth I was having similer issues with my pedals. It would probably be worth looking at a hardware solution. I was a bit worried about getting into the nuts and bolts of the system but having now fixed the issue i wish i'd done it a year ago. If you unscrew the base of the pedals you'll see the potentiometer with three wires coming off the 10, 12 and 2 o clock positions. These wired have crimp fittings which are poorly attached. I soldered these three connections in place and since then have experienced no further issues with spiking or brakes sticking. The fix took all of 15 minutes. I'm not a diy guru, and hadn't touched a soldering iron since high school but it's very easy to resolve. Prior to this i'd spent hours faffing around with fsuipc, logitech software and firmware. I'm away from home at the moment but if you think it would be useful i counld send you some pictures when i get back?
4. Hey chaps. Been looking at the obutto ozone cockpit. I'd love to have somewhere to mount all my controllers, thrustmaster warthog, logitech g25 steering wheel and saitek yoke. I'm pretty fastidious and would like a cockpit which causes the mimimum disruption when changing between controllers, tidy cable management and would also allow me to mount triple monitors with a 4th touchscreen below the centre one. Does anyone own this cockpit or could you advise a better solution? Thanks S
5. To add my 2 penneth. The thing you'll immediately notice is the precision the stick is capable of. Like an earlier poster mentioned if you're mainly flying heavy aircraft you probably won't appreciate the difference. How long does one actually spend flying hands on when you have a full authority autopilot! But if you are flying aerobatics, military aircraft or anything a bit twitchy you'll immediately notice the difference. The other important thing to note is the quality of the controller. It's all metal construction and realistic switches do go a long way to add to the immersion. I have a g940 and a saitek yoke. I'd use the yoke for airliners but for everything else the warthog's the girl for me. If you're flying airliners of something with lots of button/screen manipulation i'd spend the money on a touchscreen but if you want the best looking tactile controller, get the warthog.
6. You may get a response with a more polite tone. If the philosophy behind Eclipse is not something that interests you then there are many other VAs that will cater to your interests. The approach Eclipse is taking is that in order to expand we need to fly routes and generate income. This is a unique approach and the main reason people join Eclipse, it makes you feel valued, and you can see the impact your flights are having on the expansion of the airline. Flying can be casual, Eclipse in this sense is more casual than most VAs in that you can fly VFR or IFR into a wide variety of fields. Eclipse doesn't cost anything to be part of. If you want something different then join a different VA. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
7. I hope I don't offend anyone by publicising our VA on here, but I thought it worth mentioning to like minded pilots who fly shared cockpit. We launched Eclipse at the start of June and have distinguished ourselves from other VAs in a number of ways, one if which is our commitment to support shared cockpit flights. I'm the CEO and an RAF pilot, the reason I got back into flight sim was to teach a friend how to fly, and when we decided we wanted more direction to our flying we tried to find a VA that supported shared cockpit. We couldn't find one so created our own! We offer something different from any other VA we've found, you can find out more by watching our promo at: or by visiting our website: www.EclipseVirtual.com. Eclipse is non-profit and I just want our pilots to enjoy flying multiplayer for a VA as much as I do.
8. If it's just that nothing seems to be working woth power applied try changing your view. I had a similer problem initially which was resolved b zooming out my ezdok camera slightly. It seems the j41 has another, inactive, fms underneath the active one and if you zoom in too far you see the lower one instead. More info would be good though.
9. Deciding on which VA is easier if you have a good idea of what aircraft types, type of flying, length of route you want. We have just launched Eclipse, www.eclipsevirtual.com, a VA which uses a virtual financial system so that as you fly you earn a wage, and also make a profit for the airline to buy new aircraft. If you want to jump straight into long haul or short haul heavy jets it's probably not for you but if you want to join an airline at the start and see it grow then i think you'd like us. If 737s or bigger are what you want then for the UK i'd definitely recommend the following. BA Virtual: long wait for applications to be processed but very professional and a large fleet. Jet2V: friendly bunch of chaps using the RL jet2 database. I'm in the UK So don't really know about the other side of the pond on top of those mentioned above.
10. Thanks for the responses guys, is there any chance could let me know how to get the maddog working in shared cockpit? A friend and I have spend probably over 5 hours just trying to follow the manual and other guides on the website but nothing works for us. We've tried used hamachi and connecting directly but no joy.
11. Hi all The reason I got back into FSX was to teach a friend how to fly. This worked well on the default aircraft but as he progressed and we chose more complex aircraft to fly shared cockpit wasn't supported. We're at the stage now where we are starting a VA with an emphasis on multiplayer flying, Eclipse Virtual. I'm sure many of you share the same frustrations and I started to think of workarounds to this. The issue seems to be that the gauges can't talk to each other if they are not created in a format FSX can understand. I was wondering if it would be possible to create some software that bypassed this, or indeed, if any software already existed that would send the commands from one cockpit to another without having to understand the gauge logic. My thought process was as follows; FSUIPC can log commands within the sim i.e. If I was flying the PMDG 737 NGX and pressed the ARR/DEP FMS switch then then that command would be logged. Could some software not just send that command to the other player and have his ARR/DEP button initiated too? I appreciate that the information on panel start would have to be identical, switches in the same position, fuel load the same etc. but I lack the geekery needed to see any paticular problem with this. As with all good ideas I'm sure this has been thought of before! If someone with the knowledge could enlighten me as to the issues with this I'd appreciate it. Thanks Samson
