AIRAC files

Having just purchased the 737-600/700, I'm having trouble updating the AIRACs and possibly the SID/STARs files.Currently the FMC indentifies me having the 0608 version of AIRACs. I've tried installing the 0611 file from planepath and the 0610 from the navdata.at sites. But still the FMC shows the original 0608 ver. The auto installer from planepath shows succesful installation but no update in the FMC. Even directed the installer to FS/FMCWP/NAVDATA folder and still no update.Now I realize that maybe I don't really need the newer versions if I'm not flying on line or using VATSIM or something similar, and besides, all my flights will only take an hour or two and in in the U.S., NZ or AUS. But just to clear it up, what is the step-by-step method?Also when I go to the NAVIGRAPH site, it's all as clear as mud to me. Help in clearly explainining the process will be greatly appreciated. And I have searched the forums but still don't find a clear answer. Also read the instructions when installing the aircraft and the FMC instructions. But since the change to a subscription requirement, it's very confusing for this novice in the use of the FMC.Thanks ahead of timeJim
