November 8, 200619 yr i dont know if its only me but do any of ya'll notice that the 747-400F does not have the realistic start up sound of the 747? before i could here the engines start up with my queen of the skies package but after installing the sound update, i dont hear the engines start up. i only here them once it is full started up and ready to golyle

Also make sure that you go to the FS menu, select PMDG, General, Options, Sounds, and set the volume slider to a value of 60.When I first installed the Universal Sound Update, the sounds had too much base and I couldn't hear the engines hardly at all. But I found out that my sub-woofer slider control was set to maximum and it drowned out the mid and high frequencies. I turned it down and now I can hear the engines much better. I can also still hear the low frequency rumble sound when the plane is rolling down the runway. Now it sounds very close to what I hear in most of the 747 videos I have and downloaded. If you have an EQ turned on on your PC, you might want to be sure it set to their flat positions. Try these out and see what you think. Ken.

You cant set the value to 60 in the PMDG menu, only in your FS Sound settings. Dave Taylor
