Temperature at higher altitude

Featured Replies

Hi, Not sure where to post this, but I notice high OAT at high altitudes. Why is that? Even with all wx off (no 3d party) en CAVOK. temperatures in the mid-30's are still around -17 deg C!That's way too high.Anybody having the same readouts?regardsTee Loo

Tee Loo,Are you sure you're not mixing up TAT and OAT?Hope it helps,

Hi Tee Loo,You are probably confusing TAT with OAT. -17C sounds like a good TAT for that altitude. TAT takes into account the ram rise caused by the air friction on the aircraft. Cheers,JohnBoeing 727/737 & Lockheed C-130/L-100 Mechanichttp://www.sstsim.com/images/team/JR.jpgwww.SSTSIM.com

Oh, you guys are right... I checked the FMC (I think it's the Progress pages).... it showed -47!THXCheers!!Tee Loo
