Temperature at higher altitude

Recommended Posts

Guest teeloo

Hi, Not sure where to post this, but I notice high OAT at high altitudes. Why is that? Even with all wx off (no 3d party) en CAVOK. temperatures in the mid-30's are still around -17 deg C!That's way too high.Anybody having the same readouts?regardsTee Loo

Hi Tee Loo,You are probably confusing TAT with OAT. -17C sounds like a good TAT for that altitude. TAT takes into account the ram rise caused by the air friction on the aircraft. Cheers,JohnBoeing 727/737 & Lockheed C-130/L-100 Mechanichttp://www.sstsim.com/images/team/JR.jpgwww.SSTSIM.com
