How many folders in your aircraft folder?

Featured Replies

I have a strange problem....if you check your aircraft folder in your fs2002/ directory, right click and bring up properties, how many folders does it list??On mine, if I go above 1020 folders, my FS EDIT wont work, crashes, and I get no AI traffic from within the sim.:-hmmm[br][br][div align=center][br][link:members.cox.net/fstimes/wetimage.html]Weather Image of the Day!

Well, this is mine.Edit:Sorry, did the whole FS2002 folder by mistake !

Ok well how many does your aircraft have? This is the path that I am looking at: yourdrive:FS2002aircraft

There does appear to be a limit above which FS Edit won't function ... like man, overload. I keep a separate folder as a personal hangar of stuff I don't use often (or at all!). I have about 400 aircraft in the main AIRCRAFT folder right now - although with God knows how many different textures or panel configurations - and FS Edit won't run. To convert a new plane, I have to rename the folder, create a new AIRCRAFT folder and put the newcomer in there to get it to come up. Then reset things. Luckily, I don't use FS Edit often! It does funny things, in any case.Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitak.htmlhttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitakv3.jpg

Aha, that's interesting. I have around 8GB in the AIRCRAFT folder and FS Edit won't run for me. Maybe someone can answer what might be choking up the system for some of us. I've about 6GB in other hangars within FS2002, but surely those folders (which I've created) would not be recognised by the sim.Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitak.htmlhttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitakv3.jpg

Thanks for the info, at least I know that I am not the only one with troubles with it...For those who's FS EDIT doesn't work, do you still get AI aircraft? I didn't but then again it might have been something else that I did...wondering....not sure if its a file amount limit or folder amount limit...Mine sits at: 6013 files, 895 folders...anymore than that FS EDIT doesnt work.

This is the error message I get....FS EDIT will launch, but when I go to open I get this....is this what you all are getting, those with errors?
