Hey all.I was just playing around in the 737-700 when i noticed the bank angle limiter on the mcp. I knew it was there (well, vaguely!) and just wondered what the usual bank angle setting is?Thanks in advance,Dave

This only applies to HDG SEL as in VNAV it is controlled by AFDS. As to what would be "usual" here, I don't know since I am an arm-chair pilot, but would assume that a higher setting would be preferred for it's turning rate under "normal conditions". For smaller heading changes a smaller value would be most likely be very passenger friendly... Best,Randy J. Smith<<>>

It is my understanding that the simple answer is (lots of factors including airline SOP) if the crew makes changes, the higher settings are used on approach and the lower settings are used during cruise. As Randy mentioned depends on what mode the crew is using during each phase.
