TCAS and A/P

Featured Replies

On a flight from WSSS to YSSY, I had an aircraft cross my flight path a few hundred feet below me. Needless to say, my TCAS went crackers. It told me to climb but as I could see we would miss, I decided to continue on as normal. While the conflicting aircraft was within maybe a quarter mile, the A/P disengaged and I suddenly started to climb. I tried to reconnect the A/P but it refused until the other aircraft was about a quarter mile and opening. Is the A/P supposed to disconnect and the aircraft automatically follow TCAS Resolutions in close calls?Ryan GamurotLucky to live Hawai'ihttp://www.virtualpilots.org/signatures/vpa296.png

Absolutely not. Is wake turbulence modeled in FS???Cheers.Q>

>Is wake turbulence modeled in FS???It isn't modelled in the default FS. Active Sky adds wake turbulence but the other aircraft passed below me. I don't think either of us were affected by wake.Ryan GamurotLucky to live Hawai'ihttp://www.virtualpilots.org/signatures/vpa296.png

What plane was that? An Airbus? Sounds like Airbus behaviour :)Seriously though, if you were on final, an autopilot disconnect should at least have kept you on the same trajectory, not start a climb!Paul
