July 28, 200718 yr "Are you sure that isnt the 747-400F (freighter)?"Not sure. Here's a more up to date shot... around December, 2002. Looks kinda different from PMDG, too, but it's definitely a Qantas passenger aircraft.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/175854.jpgAny idea why there are extra lines/boxes on the fuel synoptic? Thanks!Cheers.Q>
July 28, 200718 yr Yes its a Boeing 747-400/ER (extended range) it has extra fuel tanks in the nose and just onfront of the wings. As PMDG dont model the ER that is why it is different. I have flown Qantas Wunala Dreaming (note the GE engines instead of RR) which they use on their Sydney-LAX route and also on the Heathrow-Sydney rout via Singapore:http://www.airliners.net/open.file?id=1205...next_id=1200414

Um, the nose is pretty far in front of the wing. Also, having tanks so far forward would cause a serious imbalance, wouldn't it? As a pilot who has actually flown a B744ER, could you please tell me exactly which compartment these two tanks are located and how the CG offset is compensated?
