September 29, 200718 yr on the 747-F / I realize that drive disconnects are only repaired by maintenace on the ground. The manual states that PMDG has added an option in the various mmeu to allow reconnects, reset " EDG drive". I cannot seem to make this work. Does it function only on the ground? or how?Mike B
September 29, 200718 yr Commercial Member Mike-Did you find the reset switch for the IDGS? It is under PMDG/OPTIONS...It's been so long since I wrote it- I don't recall if I restricted it to ground operation only (but that sounds sadistic enough for me to have done...) Robert S. Randazzo PLEASE NOTE THAT PMDG HAS DEPARTED AVSIM You can find us at: http://forum.pmdg.com
September 30, 200718 yr I did find it, didnt seem to work mid air. Ill give it a try on the ground soonMike
October 1, 200718 yr Could not get it to work on the ground with or without engines running, atleast on the 747FMikr
October 2, 200718 yr "Could not get it to work on the ground with or without engines running, atleast on the 747F"The engine needs to be stopped (at least in real life) to reset the drive safely. Was there a reason you disconnected it? i.e. was there a fault which must be fixed? Don't forget that you need to restart the engine before the light will extinguish.Cheers.Q>
October 2, 200718 yr To be honest I accidently disconnected one of the drives recently and was looking into how to reset it when I came across the reset option in the manual but it is unclear how it worksMIke B
October 4, 200718 yr As an update. I have not been able to find any scenario under which I can get the reset EDG drive option under various options to function.
