November 10, 200718 yr The failures option for fire/overheat detection systems for the engines does not appear to function correctly? if the fire detection system is failed in an engine and a fire subsequently occurs, the normal fire warnings are still displayed....Adam
November 11, 200718 yr "if the fire detection system is failed in an engine and a fire subsequently occurs, the normal fire warnings are still displayed...."It really depends on the type of failure. Modern fire detection systems can sense a failed loop and use the other loop to generate fire warnings. Also, with older systems, certain failures would generate fire warnings, but modern fire detection systems monitor the rate of temperature rise(real fires have a characteristic temperature rise rate, faults generally have a different "signature").Hope this makes sense.Cheers.Q>
