Ben,I guess you mean the flap lever??I think is is some sort of lock device to prevent selecting flaps.I have seen such lock devices before, but that one looked different and was for an MD-11.But basically they do they same. The prevent to move the flaps up or down mostly for maintenance actions.Hoping this is the answer you are looking for.Greetz,Ronald
