Norman Virus Control discovered a backdoor

Featured Replies

I just can't install the PMDG 747X. Always at the same point of installation progress my Norman virus Control system discovers a "backdoor" and puts it into the quarantine. So the whole thing gets cancelled.Of course I can disable the scanner and therefor install the whole thing but at the latest when I start FSX (and restart the scanner) Norman attacks this data file again and I can't load the aircraft. So my question: Do I really have to disable the scannereverytime when I run FSX or is there any solution of the problem?? Thanks for help and sorry for the Swiss English:)The file: pmdg_s~1.dll

This isn't the first I've heard of over zealous anti-virus protection and it's likely PMDG 747X isn't going to be last application you will have problems either installing, or running.I use anti-virus software named NOD32, it's low cost on an annual basis, but many people I know are very happy with a free application, AVG.I would recommend you look into one of the two applications above as they are sound anti-virus software applications without being over protective, but like most things with computers, it's an individual choiceGraham McAllister

I've never even heard of Norman virus Control - based on the reviews I just looked up for it, there's apparently a good reason for that...If you want free AV get AVG http://free.grisoft.com/doc/downloads-prod...s/frt/0?prd=affor Avasthttp://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.htmlNOD32 is the best in my opinion if you want payware, that's what most of us at PMDG use.http://www.eset.com
