How to improve crash sounds in FS2002?

Featured Replies

The crash sounds are quite pitiful in FS2k2. In FS98, we were able to change them and I had some wild stuff. I still have the WAV file with a cow mooing as everything explodes, but I haven't a clue where to instal it. Is there a principal crash WAV file that I can replace in fs2k2 ?Appreciate advice, thanks!JS

Open one of your aircraft sound.cfg files and search for "crash". It will tell you what crash sounds are strung together for that aircraft's crash sounds.Copy your new sounds into the main sound folder. I wouldn't overwrite any files with identical names because they may be used by more than one aircraft that you don't want to change.Open an aircraft sound.cfg file and search for "crash". Add you new sound anywhere you want using the convention listed.
