Route Offset/SLOP and eta labels

Recommended Posts

Using Offset I notice the data labels for ETA are erased from the Nav display but remain on the Progress page. Is this usual ?http://www.nat-pco.org/ for SLOP infoFs9 744F latest update installed.David MilesBAV Cargo Mgr.

The SLOP works on any track. Normal procedure is to enter the offset after you enter the NATS, but it is not necessary for the function.I don't quite understand that you can't offset with Direct To, I assume you have the route (be it an airway or a NATS track) already entered in the route. It is typically a set of lat/lon coordinates. In this case, simply enter the offset after passing the entry waypoint for the NATS. (I use HDG to steer me over to the offset track since the FMC is rather abrupt, then once back on track I change from HDG to LNAV).I guess the question back to you is what do you mean Direct To?After thought: The SLOP can't be preprogrammed into the route, it is activated once enroute at the time you want it to take effect.

David:You are correct- using the RTE OFFSET results in ETAs being displayed as ----z on the ND, while they are still computed and displayed correctly on the RTE DATA page. I will check my copy of PS1 to see if this is the same in that sim. As soon as you remove the offset- it displays the eta on the ND again. As far as the actual aeroplane, I cannot tell you, fortunately we have RR, Q, Delcom, Alex, Cowpatz and many others who may be able to jump in.............Hey- where's my Quito (SEQU) request as far as the Cargo Routes for the OSP?Best-Carl F.
