July 19, 200817 yr I brought this up a couple of weeks ago ... ( -99 TCAS ), now I saw Capt.R's. answer...I will tell you real world happening in 2001:On his final check out as captain on the MD11 on a flight from FRA to JFK over the UK his copilot advised him of a target about 75 miles ahead SAME level opposite direction!! With the TCAS system NOW modelled in the 747 he would never had a chance to advise ATC, who corrected the situation...Karl-Heinz - EDDI/THF " Tempelhof "" The mother of all airports " - Sir Norman Fosterhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpg Karl-Heinz Wichmann - EDDI/THF "Tempelhof" "The mother of all airports" - Sir Norman Foster Now CLOSED - its a shame !
