September 4, 200817 yr Hi all, Just a quick question. On the MCP I noticed that when my 737 catches the LOC, the APP button light goes out, is this normal? GS is displayed in the HSI along with FD etc etc, but the MCP light is off.
September 5, 200817 yr Hi,Do you have the fraquency tuned to both Nav radios? Both main autopilots selected? Kevin Hester, Indianapolis, Indiana
September 5, 200817 yr Ms/Mr Nameless,Please sign your posts with your name as per the forum rules.Yes. This is perfectly normal and the extinguishing of the APP light on the MCP tells you that you cannot deselect this mode without anything less than disconnecting the A/P alltogether. The active modes for the A/P and A/T should be read from the FMA at the top of the PFD.Hope it helps, Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
September 5, 200817 yr As Mats says, it is perfectly normal. Just to add, to "deselect" the APP mode, not only does the A/P have to be disengaged, but you have to turn the FD's off as well.Dinshaw.
September 5, 200817 yr Yep, just to add a little thing, The APP light indicates that the mode is armed and will engage once on the glideslope. After that of course the light goes off.happy landings Onur K. Visit my FS blog: Clear Right...
