October 20, 200817 yr HiI have a PMDG B747-400 however i am never able to line up correctly onapproach or capture the GS when trying to fly to EGCC EGKK EGLL LFPG EDDF most other flights i need no extra additional input other than my flight plan.My aircraft usually arrives at the right altitude but crosses the runway at the wrong angle on approach. I think i should be giving additional input as regards ILS but i am not sure how to go about this for instance if i try to fly to EGLLand my approach plate states Hdg 300 intercept radial 001 at GWD 35D i am unsure how to do this and i guess my aircraft loses its finally tracking to destination, Most of my other flights arrive with no problems and i don't have to input anything else, please could you advise how i can go about programing my ILS approaches and intercepting radials in a basic form Very Many Thanks Barny
October 20, 200817 yr Hi Barny,I don't have the 744 so I can't help you on the specifics of that plane. Sorry. However, elsewhere in this forum, you'll find threads about misaligned ILS (and FMS NAV tracks for that matter)and other problems caused by third party installers. It might be worth a check. You then need to obtain two utilities :ScanAFD.exe will fix the problem you may have on some aiports (typically where you have installed addon sceneries and where the old and new AFCAD files still co-exist and "jam" each other.FS_Registry_Repair.exe will fix damage done by other installers (if I remember well)Both are free, easy to obtain and very easy to use. It worked fine for my 737NG.Hope this helps,Regards, Bruno
October 20, 200817 yr Excellent, Bruno Thanks so much for taking the time out, will try these and seek out past posts for wisdom. Many Thanks !! Barny
October 20, 200817 yr Just a point - scanafd.exe (scanafd.zip at avsim) only works on FS9 unfortunately. Only a payware program (AFX from Flight1) can do it in FSX as far as I am aware and only on an airport by airport basis.Of course if someone knows different.....EDIT link for registry repair http://www.flight1software.com/files/FS_Registry_Repair.exe William Hall
October 20, 200817 yr To Barny : You're welcome. Glad if this helps. But let's see first if it works for you. Do you use FSX or FS9?To Bill,You're right. I forgot about FSX -maybe because I removed it from my hard disk a looooong time ago!!! :-erks (I know, this is not fair but I only fly the NG anyway).Best regards,Bruno
October 21, 200817 yr Many Thanks Bill, i'm Using the FS9 so i'll try your suggestion Thanks so much Bill Cheers Barny
October 23, 200817 yr I still have FS9 for the NG - only other aircraft on there is the Cessna for the default flight. For any AFX users I understand the next service update due shortly will include a process similar to scanafd William Hall
