I'm using PMDG 737/800 and try to program the FMC for EHAM ILS27 arrival, using Sugal star (comming from the west.)According to my chart, I fly from SPL to WP via heading 093, then follow HDG 141 for 1 minute before making an left turn to capture the localizer. How do I program the FMC to follow this heading for 1 minute or do I have to do this manually ?

Hello,Welcome to the forums, don't forget to sign next time with your real name;-) I don't think you can program the FMC to fly a heading for a specific amount of time except for holding mode, not that I'm aware of anyway. For these types of approaches, unless it's already available in the FMC I fly them manually in HDG+VORLOC mode. The chart is right in front of me right now, what I would do in this situation is the following:Generate a 15NM(SPL) circle in the fix page for a visual reference and try to complete my turn according to the chart (737-CATC). The typical speed here would be 180-210IAS. That 1 minute should place you correctly unless there are strong winds in the area.Happy landings

Hi Onur,I would like to create such a Cirle on the fix-page as well. At the moment I am standing on ground at LTBS. Inserted "Maris" as the fix:The result is Rad=289

Hi Susan,I just tried it with the 737 FMC (it may be different from the MD-11 FMC), no problems.Go to the FIX page, type in the fix you desire, in your case Maris, enter only the distance, you should see the circle on your ND. FIXMarisRAD/DIS---/12EDIT: Susan, I don't have the MD-11 yet, only the manuals. I took a look at the page you mentioned (p.83). It seems the procedure for inserting a fix is a little different than the 737. Since I don't have the aircraft itself I can't experiment and give you a solid answer.:-hmmm
