November 21, 200817 yr When I start lowering the landing gear on approach with the MD11,I always get a hydraulic warning for a second or so. Why does this happen and is this normal?Andrew Andrew Dixon"If common sense was compulsory everyone would have it but I am afraid this is not the case"
November 21, 200817 yr That's because the landing gear actuators require a lot of pressure and fluid to operate. Plus they operate relatively quicker than say the flaps. Therefore when they operate, the pressure initially will drop considerably until the sequence is underway. This will trip the hydraulic low pressure sensors for a split second.Xander Xander Koote All round aviation geek 1st Officer Boeing 777
