Tom - re: Ferdy

Featured Replies

TomI've just read the now-locked thread regarding FS planet and the threats of legal action etc. This whole sad scenario reminds me of another bozo who thought he could use 'the law' to help him by threatening to sue everyone for everything he did wrong to himself (no names, but he tried to copyright Flight Simulation etc...)What's even sadder is that there are so many unscrupulous lawyers out there who prey on the total ignorance of others to line their own pockets by encouraging 'no-hope' cases to proceed.I.M.H.O. there's only one thing worse than these idiots who think they know the law (or even think they're lawyers themselves) - that's an actual lawyer who'll take advantage of them. But there again, I suppose they deserve eachother......Toni.

Very well put. The plaintiffs are usually ignorant of the actual law and make vague citation in order to impress or intimadate someone (poor Tom in this case). They are quite harmless and can usually be assisted with medications. But as you state there are lawyers that will take anything on the off chance they can get their 40%. They are the real danger and are the source of many jokes about lawyers. The profession needs to "manage" these types if they want the respect of the public.DickPS: Some of the goofy judges are also at fault for even allowing cases into the courtroom!
