I've had a helluva couple of days with the old beast...Horrible Karl Malden app 28R at KSFO (the funds are on the way Elchitz)...Last night I diverted due to FUEL DISAGREE, R ENG PRESS, L & R GEN DRIVE faults... you name it I had it!And today? Hmmmm... wonder if this picture tells a thousand words? My question: What's next?DSCVA3339

Mr Shuttleworth, you have only recently had your Licence Reissued Following that serious issue at KSFO.Our Resident Technical Expert (Mr. I Riddell) is currently investigating the high number of "incidents" that seem to be happening with you at the controls, and on this particular aircraft. The resident Training Captain (Mr. M Bevington) is also investigating what procedures are being carried out wrongly.Until all investigations have been completed please consider your licence: REVOKED and yourself GROUNDED Mark

Mark - I think that is a suitable solution until Mr. Shuttleworth's credentials have been examined and he has passed a check ride...and a medical.Daryl - wasssup brother....been enjoying that BC Bong while flying? Get off the stuff, man ;-) Come on 5 pm!!

LMAO,The Okanogan valley is well known for it's lush rolling hills and fertile soil for growing all sorts of things - especially wine and excellent cherries .Don't know what to tell you DS - looks like you have been having a rough go at it. If it makes you feel any better I crashed my Airbus 2 weeks ago twice on the same day. Once on takeoff and the second time trying to execute a GA when I realized the LOC/GS at DCA was SNAFU'd. Both times I had witnesses .On another note - this evening I will be meeting with a few of the local VATSIM people here in Winnipeg. Among them will be none other than Mr. Mike Langhan - our most excellent Center Controller in Edmonton Center during our latest PIC ON VATSIM event. IF there is anything that anyone would like me to pass on to Mike in person - please let me know and I will be glad to do so.I am really looking forward to this evening. After close to 2 years on VATSIM (and SATCO) I have yet to meet any of the many amazing friends I have made online. I tried in vain to set up some beer nights in Calgary, dragged my behind about making a trip down to SoCal to meet my mates there - and the convention in Toronto just happened to be on the same weekend I was moving to Winterpeg.I need clarification that the others on this network are just "normal" living, breathing human beings - as I am.As a side note for those of you who enjoy flying online in the East Coast - I have just started my online training for the Boston ARTCC - so hopefully I will soon be coming in over your headsets working the tower in Boston Logan.Ian Elchitz CYWG

Ian,I think we can forgive you, as you were flying the AIRBUS.Mark

Dear PIC Forum:Let me begin by saying that this is a VERY LONG POST. Not as long as Ian Elchitz's usual forays, but LONG nonetheless. If "words" bore, confuse, or otherwise madden you, stop reading this post and go look at some pretty pictures, okay? Ahem.I MUST DEFEND myself from what I percieve to be baseless, hollow and unfriendly accusations touching on my credibility as a pilot, poet and pirate. Umm... no, not pirate... oh crap, how do I edit this? Pompousity. No. Oh crap. Where's the edit command?Anyway, I digress.Contrary to what Mr. Spliffy aka "ACA856" infers, I have NOT - repeat: NOT - been smoking the excellent bud known the world over as Kootenay Thunder!@#$. As Dana Carvey said while doing a wicked impersonation of President Bush Mk.I: "Not gonna do it!"Nor can I blame alcohol consumption, as I drink "near-beer" when operating the leased CVA B763 (C-CFDS). And not to excess or I have to go wee-wee a LOT. Umm, TMI.. sorry about that. How do I edit these posts?Nor can I blame God, though it does seem at times that she has it in for me.Come to think of it, I really have no excuse. That said, I DO NOT understand why my pilot's certificate should be revoked, Mark McG. Is that really fair? Have you been dubbed the PIC police or something?True, I have had three rather serious - umm, one critical - situations/occurances/anomalies during the last 4 days. True. Very true.True, Karl Malden has filed papers in the California courts to recover damages from what he says were caused by "an airplane colliding" with his house. Got me there on that one.True, Ian Elchitz and his brother Phillip are pretty ticked at me (the money is on the way guys).True, I couldn't right the 763 last night when the R ENG started acting up... BUT, look what I wrote to ACA303 regarding the incident:"Problems started with FUEL DISAGREE warning. The Totalizer said 65 and the Calculated said 60.I tried to figure that problem out. Then I got a R ENG PRESS warning.OK, pull out the manual.By the time I've got the manual, the R ENG spools down, and the A/T is now inoperable (why is that?).Needless to say my airspeed dropped!I knew it was time to find an airfield. I was approximately 60nm from VOCI so I turned 180 and made my way down.X-BLD warning on the right engine.NEXT: R GEN DRIVE & L GEN DRIVEIt was a nightmare - mostly because I was not prepared for it.Fortunately I got the R ENG going, but lost electrical power for 30 secs or so... lost the FMC... it was wild! Then, as I'm coming through 7000 for 4000 to intercept loc for runway 25... LIGHTNING just south of the glidepath!"Wow. Even I admit that that LOOKS bad.True, it seems I am a total incompetant.True, my landing gear seems to be pooched at the moment. That's not my fault really. And, hey, how do you think my pax feel? They only get to fly "circuits". Not a very exciting prospect, is it? BUT, I will get the gear fixed just as soon as the copy of LANDING GEAR(S) FOR DUMMIES comes back to the library. I think Ian R has it out actually. Really.True. All true. However, may I submit that my "haphazard" attempts to pilot my craft are actually LESSONS that the rest of the group can benefit from. I shouldn't be GROUNDED, I should be encourage to FLY more!!! Everyone will learn from my Clousseau-esque ways, and perhaps, just perhaps, the world will be a safer place to fly aeroplanes. That's my dream. Can't we all just get behind the dream, and let Daryl fly?All together now:ALL WE ARE SAYING... ...IS GIVE DARYL A CHANCE... ALL WE ARE SAYING... IS DARYL CAN DANCE...ALL WE ARE SAYING... LET HIM FLY IN FRANCE...DSCVA3339

My comments in Blue>Dear PIC Forum: >>Let me begin by saying that this is a VERY LONG POST. Not as >long as Ian Elchitz's usual forays, Nasty!Ok - I am long winded. I sit at work typing all day long and I am pretty quick at this, so a long letter only takes me a fraction of the 45 minutes it took you to write yours.>crap, how do I edit this? Pompousity. No. Oh crap. Where's >the edit command? As Stiff or 856 would tell you - "Use the Search Function, this has already been discussed". Perhaps we should get someone to write up how to edit your posts in the PIC FAQ>That said, I DO NOT understand why my pilot's certificate >should be revoked, Mark McG. Is that really fair? Have you >been dubbed the PIC police or something? Mark is at the very least good at making PIC IAP for the UK >True, Karl Malden has filed papers in the California courts >to recover damages from what he says were caused by "an >airplane colliding" with his house. Got me there on that >one. Karl is only looking for the $$ to pay for a new nose since he blew his syndication fortune on the craps table at Balley's in Vegas.>True, Ian Elchitz and his brother Phillip are pretty ticked >at me (the money is on the way guys). Phillip (currently in CYLW on business) has hired a consultant to see if he can make any money off of you as a result.>Can't we all just get behind the dream, and let Daryl fly? After a brief period of thought, I have decided to once again supply you with vectors the next time you fly in my sky. However, I can not be held responsible for any "failures" on the MVA feature on my scopes resulting in the following traffic call: "CVA3339 Heavy, Descend and maintain 3000. Your Traffic at 12 O'Clock and 3 miles will be a mountain, level at 5000 report traffic in sight">>ALL WE ARE SAYING... LET HIM FLY IN FRANCE... > Tour lourde de Paris bonsoir du triple trois neuf canadiens. Les vents sont la piste calme 22R d
