October 27, 200223 yr Hello, I would appreciate if somebody tells me how can I get the FMC to let me enter 280lbs into the ZFW.I believe the limit, that PIC allows, is aprox 250lbs. Can I change this?Best Regards,Bruno Francescoli.Miami, FL.
October 27, 200223 yr It may very well be that 280,000 lbs is over MZFW therefore you are not allowed to enter such high value.Michael J. Michael J.

Can I >change this? Try reducing total fuel via the FS Aircraft menu and then entering a higher ZFW. With the PIC/Poskey merge I have been able to enter ZFW up to 288.0 - which I believe is the MZFW value. I have three aircraft.cfg files preset to 245, 265 and 285 ZFW to add some variety to flying.-michael
October 27, 200223 yr Another way around the fuel settings is to manually input the fuel load to a value that gives you a number lower than max takeoff weight based on aircraft ZFW. Then input the known aircraft ZFW. Go back and delete your manual input which brings you back to calculated fuel. The MTOW will come up in proper values.
October 27, 200223 yr Thank You Guys!!...But Do you know any tutorial that could help me to modify my aicraft.cfg?Because, I want to fly EGLL - KLAX.And the Fuel setting is 100 / 99 / 100 % in each tank. With my ZFW set to 288 I can't enter this value.Again, Thank youBest Regards,Bruno Francescoli.Miami, FL.
October 28, 200223 yr hi,with aZFW of 288,000 lbs you cannot do a flight from London to LA. The 767 can do long hauls but not that far with that weight. Try a weight that is more realistic to a passenger aircraft or do you use the 767 as a freighter? Your weight is just too much for that long flight. There is a wondefull load and fuel manager on www.speedbirdonline.co.uk/767.html . Just try it and flight planning makes doubble fun!!I hope I could have helped a little!Matthias
October 28, 200223 yr 1 - Go to your aircaft.cfg file and look for the "empty_weight" entry line. The default is 245,291 lbs. 245,000 lbs will allow for a full fuel loading and stay under the MTOW of 408,000 lbs. 2 - If you want to change the weight of the aircraft, simply change the "empty_weight" entry in the aircraft.cfg file. The range for the B763 is 199,000 (BOW) to 288,000 lbs (MZFW). You must then enter the new ZFW into your FMC during the pre-flight. 3 - The ZFW in the FMC MUST match the "empty_weight" entry in your aircraft.cfg file or the calculations in the FMC will be inaccurate / meaningless.4 - If you have used a weight and balance application, you are on your own...there have been problems with them. I suggest you re-install the aircraft and only adjust the "empty_weight" figure as needed.PS - yes, I know "empty_weight" is not the same as ZFW but Bill Gates does not..."empty_weight" is what the PIC767/FS2k2 air file will use to simulate the ZFW. Hope this makes it clear and is helpful.Rob.
October 28, 200223 yr Thanks all for you help, appreciate.I use an utility to load new ZFWs.Again, Thank you!Best Regards,Bruno Francescoli.Miami, FL.
October 28, 200223 yr If you are using a weight and balance application, you should ignore my post...as I recall, the app will add 'stations' to the empy_weight figure confusing things even more.If you are happy with it, then stay with it.Rob.
October 28, 200223 yr I'm ghappy with you Rob. That's okay.Btw, the utiliy is done by Ben Alexander-Brown "767 Dispatch 2002"Thank you,Best Regards,Bruno Francescoli.Miami, FL.
October 28, 200223 yr Yep, that's the one that had some problems. I ditched it and now simply change the .cfg fikle as required....which is never, I generally fly at 245,000 lbs and adjust the fuel if I want to fly heavier.Rob.
