October 28, 200223 yr Hi,Today we have many aircrafts with nice panels (DF737, 767PIC, etc)Magenta runs smooth, but I don't have a full size cockpit, just some computers and couple of monitors. What do you think: Magenta or Multiple Panels ?Thanks,Ulisses
October 28, 200223 yr Author Hi,It looks nice !Do you notice any performance drop when using 4 monitors in 1 machine ? I mean...closing all panels frame-rate goes up ?Here is my system:Atlhon XP2000+ASUS A7V333 768mb RAMGF4ti4200 128mb AGP dual outputRiva TNT2 32mb PCIRiva TNT2 32mb PCISo I have 4 monitors: 21", 17", 17", 15"Running winXP.What do you think ?Thanks,Ulisses
October 28, 200223 yr 1 or 2 frames per second less with multiple monitors.don't worry about it!unless you only have 1 or 2 fr./sec. to start out with. :-)regards, andreas
October 28, 200223 yr Author ah...do you think 15" is too small for some 767 cockpit items ???thanks,Ulisses
October 28, 200223 yr 15" is fine for the fmc and pedestal.i'm running the 30.82 nvidia drivers for the gf4and the standard win98se drivers for the et6000 cards.you might also want to check out: http://www.realtimesoft.com/ultramon/http://us.portrait.com/i have no experience with the above.regards, andreas
October 29, 200223 yr Author Andreas,I saw your pictures, how do you resize the cockpit to hide the MCP ??? Your setup looks nice, but looks like you made the cockpit larger than computer display, how ???Thanks,Ulisses
October 29, 200223 yr first resize the main instrument panel, it will stretch across 4 monitors.then undock and resize the out the cockpit view and overhead panel and move them to the proper location, they will cover up the mcp and radio panels.as i have the aerosoft mcp and the goflight panel i have no need for either.the only downside of this aproach is the problem of the mcp reappearing when accidentaly clicking on an inactive part of the main panel. by clicking on the overhead and out the cockpit views you can bring them to the front again.one more reason to duplicate every switch in hardware so you never have to touch the keyboard or mouse again. :-)even better would be a special version of the main bitmap that does not come with the mcp and radios and had the standby instrument in the proper locations.something like this:http://www.simpit.de/b767cockpit/preview/B767prev_s.jpgregards, andreas
October 29, 200223 yr Author Hi,I have the MCP and goflight modules, I'm running my main FS at 1280x1024 and the panels monitor at 1024x768, what is the resolution you use for the panels ?My problem is to stretch the panel in vertical, I can't stretch it enought to hide the MCP, more than that, if I scale it to the maximum I can in Vertical, I can't use the top bar to drag it..I can't stretch the panel across the 4 monitors without undock it, my winXP see the monitors as 4 separate devices.I found the simulation not so smooth when using 4 monitors....but it's okThanks for any additional info...ulisses
October 29, 200223 yr QUOTE: "even better would be a special version of the main bitmap that does not come with the mcp and radios and had the standby instrument in the proper locations"Which is exactly what a friend and I have made! Right now I am only waiting for the MCP to arrive from "aussiland". It should be this week./Patric
October 29, 200223 yr Author Hi Patric,You use 2 monitors for the panel ???Are you losing performance ?And the expected question: any change to share your panel ????Thanks,Ulisses
October 29, 200223 yr Hi Patric,Is it possible to send me a copy of your bitmap because that is exactly what I have been looking for,Thanks in advance, mofa
October 29, 200223 yr Author Patric,I forgot, here is my e-mail: [email protected] you can send me the panel I'll be very happy !Thanks a lot,Ulisses
