VFR / LANDING VIEW WITH VSI

Featured Replies

I have redone this panel from scratch starting with the original picture Phil provided me.It is not completed yet..well almost. I am having problems with the rmi gauge not streching beyond the bottom bitmap though. All others work fine. Any ideas on how to fix this gauge problem would be appreciated. Comments?Best Wishes,Randy J. Smith

The addition of the VSI looks great! I wouldn't worry much about the RMI, since you don't actually need it during the final approach. What I would like instead is a kind of pop up MCP so I can set the speed, missed approach altitude, disengage the a/p etc... It would be very helpful. Currently I have to go back to the main panel to do this and somehow it distructs attention... You see we don't have a second pilot to take care of those things. :-)George DorkofikisAthens, Greece

Hi,your panel looks terrific. Could you please tell me what panel tool you use to compose it?Thanks and best regardsPeter

>Hi, >>your panel looks terrific. Could you please tell me what >panel tool you use to compose it? >>Thanks and best regards >>Peter Thank You. I use CfgEdit for gauge placement and size. For the rest I just use Paint Shop Pro. I'm sure there is a better and faster way than the way I do it! I've only started a couple of weeks ago working with any type of panel and am learning alot about bitmaps and what a pain they are to make "look good" in FS. The color is very difficult but I have recently aquired very high quality pictures of every aspect of the 767 panel so I am already planning on doing a new one with the closest color match possible. Stay tuned.Best Wishes,Randy J. Smith

And it was not in the way for landing at all.I will look into making this a "pop up" view . I'll post some pic later today.Best Wishes,Randy J.Smith

I'm working out the config and a few other minor details. Maybe later today I can give you a copy. Phil G. has an great Landing view out right now that has two types of the 767 panel with a little less bottom panel but still great. If you have ICQ leave me you're number.Best Wishes,Randy J. Smith

Hello again Randy!no pb for the minor details you have to work on (if it's the RMI you're worrying about,I'd tell you that in my opinion, you dont REALLY need it: 1) if in very bad weather , and using VFR view to see the RWY, you will most likely perform a AWO-approach ( ILS II/III).So no need for RMI since you already have the eadi to follow G/S & loc... 2) in any other cases, even a VOR or NDB approach, I guess weather will be fine enough to fly visually. So no need for RMI neither... :-wink2 otherwise I think I still have to work on forums: I dont see what a ICQ is...thank you for the offer anyway, and I will give you my ICQ as soon as I have discovered what it is...:-vuurgosh, it's more complicated than to fly a plane!!! :-hang catIIIdual (lfpg)

So, yes it can be used in place of his DEFAULT view i.e.- the VFR view. I still use Phil's landing view via the "5" key along with mine. But if you really want to use his vfr view along with mine I see no problems.Best Wishes,Randy J. Smith
